It's a shame how much this thread has deteriorated, but just to reiterate, this tournament was awesome and I can't wait for the next one!

I have to agree with everyone about how awesome this event was (besides the low turnout) and give major props to Mr. Nice Guys! It's always a pleasure to play there!

The game was over, but he cheated and I lost.

Not proven, all of us have tried playing Sorceries at illegal times, I'll bet.  I've a feeling we won a 2HG event by flash Evoking an Aethersnipe in their turn that with hindsight, I couldn't legally do.  I've also beaten someone day 2 at a GP with Worldpurge played for 7 (costs 8 usually).  Neither play would be considered cheating by the DCI, as the intent wasn't to make the illegal play, it was a case of my misreading/not reading/not knowing the cards.  We call that a Game Rule Violation, if it gets caught.  Back up and give a warning.  On both occasions there, the opponents missed it too, so you're not the only one.  Accusing someone of cheating in this way is both unsporting and inflammatory.

Quote
On an interesting note, I have been informed that this person was once banned by the DCI for cheating.

That was a while ago.  Taking advantage of whiny little kids at a tournament in order to advance, by making illegal EOT plays.  So it's a completely different case.  Oh well, maybe not...

Anyway, congrats to Igor for taking the little green men that far.  I've a feeling the metagames elsewhere are likely to feel the impact of this and Rich Shay's finish.

Does Nam Tran post on TMD and if so, what is his TMD name? I would PM this to someone, but I really have no idea who I would talk to about that.

He may have even posted in this thread and I have no idea.
