I trust that Harduvel put a note on his deck registration sheet that I named his deck, and that he's not trying to take the credit for that. I mean, I know he'd never do that. Just saying.
Excellent tournament as always, Justin. Props to Andrew and Patrick for driving so damn far for the tournament. Hope to see you guys again next time!

Thanks for running another type 1 tournament, we need to get more going around here perhaps a DMF Summer Series? I guess i can hope, everything ran smoothly and next time hopefully I wont be so bad at playing little green men.

Another well run event, congratulations to the top 8 and especially Justin for taking it down. I missed top 8 as a result of not playing much type 1 recently (insert random excuse here), and punted some games to win a hard fought campaign for mayor or Scrubbington. The SoCal Vintage scene exists solely because of the efforts of Justin, and Shawn before him, and we all cannot thank you enough. I second the motion for a DMF summer series, maybe we can drag some guys down from up north considering it doesn't look like we'll have to compete with Eudomonia this year. Also a special thanks needs to be payed to all those that traveled from far off lands to play on Saturday, in particular Andrew and Patrick, you gentlemen are champions in my book.

I trust that Harduvel put a note on his deck registration sheet that I named his deck, and that he's not trying to take the credit for that. I mean, I know he'd never do that. Just saying. Lol, I'd never do that. But seriously, let me give credit where credit is due. I'd like to thank LSV for being a deck building genius and coming up with this CounterTop deck. Also, thanks to Chris Tolar for giving me a much needed witty name to put on my deck registration sheet. I will also echo what's been said previously in this thread: major props to Justin for hosting yet another awesome event and to everybody who came. Thanks for keeping the SoCal vintage scene strong! Congrats to Justin Nguyen for taking home the Workshop. He played really well and definitely deserved it. Also, hats off to Gio for making top 4 with his Painter/Tez deck, showing that Drain decks without Time Vault can indeed put up results. My only regret on the day was royally punting game 3 of my semifinal match vs. Justin. He had a Windswept Heath on the table, and I, in true genius fashion, decide to swing in with my Yixlid Jailer. Well sure enough, he cracks his Heath and finds Dryad Arbor, sending me on a quick trip to frown town. I even knew he was playing the Arbor because I saw it in our previous games, I just forgot it was a forest. Well, this was a first class learning experience and I'm confident I won't make that same mistake again.

Massive props to Justin and the SoCal folks for a great tournament and a great day. Props to Rob for drunken-prophesying Pats topdeck explosives to handle the double dryad goyf onslaught. I think that was the biggest laugh of the night. Props to Andrew and Patrick for driving so damn far for the tournament. Hope to see you guys again next time!
It's always great to make a trip down to SoCal to hang with the whole gang, we look forward to more DMF events.

So, this was definitely the most fun I've had at a magic tournament. I've gotta give props to everyone on that one, you SoCal guys are an awesome crowd. It was a pleasure to partake in my first DMF tourney Mad props go to Justin for running the whole thing, to Chris for the pre-tourney (and post-tourney) advice, and to Rob for rocking my face first round in the side event (although I fought til the end!) The tourney was a blast. Can't wait til the next one comes around..

The tourney was definatley awesome! i had a great time despite going 3-2 and falling just short of the top 8. The guys that came down from up north were awesome to play with. Please come back for more tournaments. Im pretty sure everyone had a good time. Thanks Justin for keeping the vintage world alive in so cal. I totally agree with and support the DMF summer series!

Amazing tournament even though I founded, wrote the divine scriptures for, and started accepting membership dues to the 0-2 Drop Cult... I mean Club.
Thank you so much to everyone who came down and especially to Justin for making it happen. It was a pleasure as always and I look forward to the next one!

Thanks for running such a good tourney Justin. Venue was great as always, and I look forward to coming to the next T1 tourney too. I know this is out of place, but I think Shawn once ran a legacy tourney with some big prizes... Maybe?

When I wrote my decklist out, it was 7 SoLoMoxen (1x Sol Ring, 1x Black Lotus, 5x Moxen) - Sorry if that was confusing.

I watched his draws; he mulled aggressively, but just didn't see any goods. Happens sometimes. The same thing happened to me in the first round of the Top8. I think MonoBrown has the best matchup against his Ichorid list of anything out there, I just couldn't get enough to deal with him game 3. I had 6 outs for 4 turns, just couldn't get there.

Fair enough. My newest version of Oath runs 2 Wastes + 1 Strip main plus 1 more Waste SB, so obviously that makes the match-up that much better.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I was lurking and came across it. I'd like to give Justin a shout out and thank him for keeping DMF going. I am so glad that the shop is still going and that many of the same people continue to suport you. I wish continued and growing sucess, you have one of the best jobs a man can have, you provide a place that people like to be while doing the things they like to do, best wishes sir! WHAT'S UP CALIFORNIA??!! I'm so happy to know that DMF is still there for you guys and that you are still there for it. Sounds like Justin is doing a great job for you bunch of scrubs I probably shouldn't do individual hello's, not only against the rules, but I'll surely forget someone I didn't mean to so just know I still find myself smiling thinking about something that happened at the shop, and I still feel enriched for knowing each of you. Say hey for me to everyone! Let me leave a list of things that I hope bring a smile to peoples faces; Some things are always good, 4am Political Talks, Norm's, Stupid Racial Jokes, Fluffers vs. Women who have sex with horses, No reservations at the NorCal motel, Unstacked, Jamba Juice, I'm Sorry, Stupid Black Cards, Bullet Proof Vests, Work rules regarding mens jewelry, and the list goes on....
