Thanks to all who attended. It was another fun and competative day at a Blue Bell T1. I would also like to deeply thank the 24 players who stayed around to play in the side event which was dedicated to Dan Herd. We raised $338 which has been donated to his memorial fund. We cut the main event to 5 rounds so that we could play Swiss rounds in the side event. I think everyone was cool with that knowing why we were all there to play on Saturday, to remember our lost friend.

Hope to see everyone again at our Lotus tourney on June 27th!

Another solid event with most of the regulars in attendance. It's good to hear that that much was donated,I think it shows how close of a group the type 1 community is.

Sometime somewhere I may post a report as I know Mr. Detwiler would like to read about my antics during our top 8 match of which game 2 was possibly the worst game of type 1 anyone has ever witnessed.

Congrats  to all who made the T8.   Hopefully I see everyone at the next event in Philly.

Mike - thanks for running another great event.  I'll see you on 6/27!

And Mr. Beaver, love the deck.  I'll see you, hopefully in the finals again, on 6/6.

Beaver, I love you man, but you must know that it was by nothing but the grace of God that you managed to pull out that match.  It isn't very often that people can give a game away and still win the match in this format.  I have to say, shuffling up for game three, I felt pretty good about my chances.  After all, I had yet to get a truly awesome draw all day, and I felt that your deck had already given you two winning draws.  It couldn't happen three times, right?

Congrats on your win.

And watch out the next time I see you sitting across from me!  My deck owes you a beating.

EDIT: Five years later, I look back and read this and holy hell, was I an ass.  No matter what happened, Beaver, you won and nobody should demean that or take that away from you.  I'm sorry for the attitude - Nick.

Interesting / Pointless tidbit:

When Mykie Noble won your tounament for 40 duals, he was the 8th seed after the Swiss.

When I won in April, I was the 8th seed after the Swiss.

When Jeremy won last Saturday, he was also the 8th seed after Swiss.

The worst game of type 1 was played by Aardshark Vs Aaron at Adventures last year.
Drain Tendrils vs Ichorid.

It was actually, that bad.

The code of silence of the local vintage players almost caused internal bleeding during the tourney. It was that bad.

I'm sure I scrubbed out at that tournie, but DAMN that match was painful to watch. (Finals, no time limiit, Lotus on the line...)

OUCH (headburn thinking about it....)

I can't belive the full details were never revealed yet.

Nothing could be worse than Aardshark Vs Ichorid in finals.  Nothing.

Aardshark would agree (except he won so was pleased with result...)

OUCH

LOL

It seems good to be the 8th seed cause you get all the losses out of the way before it matters. Plus you're paired up against the guy who x-0ed the tournament so all the pressure is on him. Then if you beat the 1st seed you get a huge psychological boost in confidence. Maybe I'm just over thinking this but it is interesting that so many 8th seeders go all the way.

And yes I will be there Sunday, I'm just not sure what I'm playing yet!

First off I would like to thank everyone who took part in the dan herd side event!!!!!!

Now for the bizzness!....

CONGRATS to Mr.top deck himself the one and only Beaver!!!!I have seen and played some very very good games . I watched and ripped some of the most fantastic top decks. But folks let me tell ya. I have never seen a person where every draw is god like.Watching Beaver play you will see every draw is a windmill slam,I just won the game while you sat there and got dizzy from the storm count draw! Its regoddamntarded!!!!!

I really would like to see Mr. top decks report. The finals match alone was a showstopper, and id do it no justice telling the tale.

Once again thanks to Mike for a great event. I cant wait for the lotus event!!!!!!!!

That's why I ask that everyone fills in a deck type on the deck reg sheet, so that when I have to post here I know what you're playing. If not, it's T.O.'s pot luck dinner!  Wink  I mean come on, you're leaving this in the hands of the guy who plays RG Beats cuase that's the only T1 deck he understands how to play!!  Very Happy

Smell ya later
