Incoming win with zero Polluted Deltas or Flooded Strands, a first in far too long.

Holy shit, srsly?  We need to arrange a cage match between Kyle and Soly.

Also, it's been brought to my attention that I've overlooked a few TMD regulars in my call-out posts thus far.  I'd like to take this opportunity to amend my posts in this thread to include the following people:

1.  Everyone
2.  You
3.  Richard Garfield
4.  TheLegendofMagic
5.  MixingMike
6.  Team CAB
7.  Zvi Mowshowitz...and all the other pros who played in Rochester that year.
8.  Skizzik96
9.  All the creators of the spambots who've visited TMD
10.  Kanye West
11.  The U.S. National Team for the year 2004       ...in basketball.
12.  Brian Demars
13.  Ivantheterrible
14.  JDizzle
15.  jpmeyer
16.  All members of Meandeck, past, present, and future
17.  Outlaw
18.  Master Tap
19.  This lady
20.  PTW (and I'm completely serious on this one; I need a worthy trashtalking adversary, and he's close enough)
21.  Anyone who has ever called themselves a Paragon of Vintage, even if they've never heard of Team Paragons and they were using the word "paragon" in its usual sense
22.  The Brass Man
23.  Pete Hoefling
24.  Zherbus' kid
25.  Jeff Anand
26.  Duncan Devlin
27.  Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
28.  Ron Paul
29.  The Brass Man again for good measure
30.  Jacob Orlove
31.  Sephiroth, of MWS fame
32.  Sephiroth, of Final Fantasy VII fame
33.  Kerz
34.  Grand Inquisitor (I'll sideboard a Mountain Goat just for you)
35.  The rest of Team Eastman
36.  Anyone else who has seen, read, or heard about this thread, this tournament, or this website.

Be there.

Incase anybody was still on the fence about comming, here is the set of Foil Welders that Scott Fisher just signed and altered for me for the tournament (sorry for the image quality, im just using my webcam). I have to give a huge thanks to him as he went out of his way to come sign/alter these cards. See you all on Sunday!

Dude it's a 20 hour drive.  I won't be there.  Kyle doesn't like to actually fight either.  Awhile back he told me he doesn't actually enjoy being punched.

A few of the people I'm going with will be bringing EDH decks. You know, for when we stop feeling like winning.

Is cowwithhat going to be there? I look forward to playing his fish deck that doesn't have black lotus, null rod, and force of will because they aren't offensive cards.

Wait a second.....Kowal, did you change your name on here?

This tournament sounds amazing, and I wish I had looked at the forums and known about it more than a few days in advance so as to acquire the cards to play in it.  Good luck to all who play today, and I will def. watch the forums for more vintage tournaments...

It's over!  I wound up getting second place with G/W, losing to Jeremiah Rudolph running Tezz in the finals.  I got mized out of game one by a maindeck Sower of Temptation, and in game three he delivered a turn one tinker and I failed to find an opening hand with mana in three mulligans.

Was tons of fun, will provide a scarce tournament report tommorow. This was a true blast-from-the-past tournament, with droves of people coming out of retirement, and as anticipated, good times were had by all. Empathetic and courteous TO backed with solid prize support. We had enough people for all 4 Foil Welders.

I had a great time at the tournament this Sunday.  These semi-casual (in climate, not in quality of players) are what made early 2000s Vintage so much fun.  Maybe in another year or two I'll learn all the rules changes again and play in another tournament!

Many thanks to the Tournament Organizer as well as to the store which hosted us.

Worldgorger Dragon (slightly modified list of Demonic Attorney's "Minus 6") led me undefeated in the Swiss and up to 3rd* place, taking my loss to Mr. Kowal.

* Well we didn't actually play out the 3/4 match, but I beat Sam Best during normal rounds so am claiming it!

*Ahem*  This post is brought to you by wicketsnatcher ... who has apparently been tricked into taking on an angelic persona!
