however, they can find the chain, bouncing Iona with plenty of counter back up.

No creature is going to protect you and itself from everything.  She is just one more tool in the toolbox like Akroma, Progenitous, and Dragon.

Of course, I was merely trying to make the case as to why I think blue is a better pick than black vs. Tezz.

I agree Smile

Not to mention that by naming blue, now all your countermagic is uncounterable.  So If you have a drain or something, you have an answer to Will/Combo/Lotus/Removal/etc.

aaaand.. how they should be able to cast the chain? if i named blue?? oO
besides that i can counter the big black bomb and they CAN NOT counter back...

blue is in most cases really the stronger call. dont understand at all why this is such an issue... o_O'

I agree with all the above points about naming blue.
The second reason is simple probability. Out of the non-land cards in the deck, 20something are blue and maybe 8ish are black. Maybe there's a specific situation where it would be better to name black but in general, based off this and the above points, I'd always name blue. Plus, blue stops Tezzeret which is the only win condition that can attack through Iona with infinite turns.

I have to say that Living Wash does provide for some interesting possibilities: If you cant find Orchard you can wish for sleeper agent to give them a guy.  If you cant find Oath you can wish for rector (not sure how good this is) + whatever generic stuff you may want: eternal witness, artifact/enchantment kill etc.

If you're actually boarding Sleeper Agent isn't it better to just board an Orchard?
