Thats some serious Prize support Nick, the structure looks fine. I am not to sure what the 4X Carnival of Souls is about but whatever floats your TO boat is fine haha.

If we get to 64 players will there still be a side event and will it still be for a Twister?

Steve, I'm going to update all the information tonight, and yes, there will be a side event for a Twister contingent upon getting 16 entrants into the side event.

So... Umm... Are we playing magic?

I'll be dropping by Depot later today if you're going to be there.  I'm going to call Joe later and see if he's interested in going to BB next week - do you think you can make it?

Im looking on making the event with a cooler...

Greg Fenton (www.gregfenton.com) is doing all the N.Y.S.E. playmats and I am working on getting him to alter cards that will then either be sold at the event, or used as prizes.  I haven't decided what to do with that yet.  I like the idea of having a sportsmanship prize though - not everybody does well at these events, but we have some guys who come out to play, rain or shine, week in and week out.  I admire their determination, no matter how tough it seems sometimes.

The current meta is that there's a lot of Bud Light, so I'd go with either a Sam Adams, Bass ale, or maybe something a lot faster, maybe Rum or go complete rogue with um... some kind of Rogue Ale? The chili pepper Rogue ale is actually pretty good.

I haev a first turn Llanowar Elf. He casts Ancestral, a slightly stronger card from the same set.

I heard that Polish Vodka with a splash of Peach Snapple did really well at the NJ tournament a few weeks ago.

All drinking games aside, we're two weeks out and the event looks like it's going to be tremendous.

I think we're going to set a record for the largest Vintage tournament on Long Island.  With everyone that I've heard from, I think we already have well over 50 people coming to the event.  Given how many people showed up last time without mentioning anything on this board, I think we're going to see well over 60 people...

Really looking forward to this.  Hope to see everyone in two weeks...

One week to the event and I'm about as psyched as can be.  I've heard that some of the Connecticut/Mass guys and a few more PA guys than I had thought are going to be making the trip.

I'm having a problem picking up the foil Carnival of Souls oddly enough, but hope to have them by the event.  I promise to have something foil and awful as the 9th place prize no matter what, so I hope nobody gets their hopes down!

So after an extensive (and unfortunately failed) search for reasonable airfare for this, it's unfortunately a no-go, as much as I wish it wasn't. I know Dan, Sean, Chris Hanson and Big Rob will be going though.

Hopefully event IV will either be in the part of Novemeber or December/January when I'm home. I hate missing these things.

Sorry to hear it Josh...  I'm probably only going to run one event between November and December, but I'm going to look to run something moderately big in January.  I don't know that it would be another Lotus tournament (that will, in part, depend on turnout come Saturday), but if it's not for a Lotus I'll try to find a Recall or Walk instead.

Could I hitch a ride from any of the Blue Bell gang? I'll pay for gas. LMK

I would definitely drop Elias a line if I were you.  I'll ask around and see if any of the other guys have space.

I'm going to be offering a sportsmanship prize at the event.  The artist who did the NYSE playmats is altering a card that will be given out.  I have one person in particular in mind for the prize, but I'm going to offer this out in the future.  One of the major reasons why I play Vintage is because of the community - there's a collegiality that is certainly lacking in every other format.  Rewarding that should be a priority, if only to try and encourage it.

We're still working out the ride situation, but a whole bunch of blue bell folks are going.  I would think this might be doable.  I'll get back to you in a few days when I have some more info on the rides...

I feel like a million of us from PA are comming, and by a million I mean a few, and lots of our Jersey counterparts.

I will most likely be losing this Lotus in the finals to someone playing FOWichorid, just to keep up with my losing to ichorid ways...

But October has been a certified b*tch for me as far as events go.  I had put and gotten in a day off request with the city for Traviscon over a month in advance and it go repealed by my comissioner/ chiefs at the job.  As it stands, I need to give 4 weeks notice to get a day off with the city, so I've been screwed out of some serious events.  With that said, I know Ici and Stormanimagus are going to represent.  Prospero, I really wish I could make it.  I hope you take lots pf pics, and hopefully, when this new job happens, it'll make my Vintage life all that much easier.  I look forward to reading the tournament report.

Come on Tiger, where's the killer attitude?  And even if you did lose in the finals you'll be able to walk away with a piece of power for your troubles.  Not a bad day.

I have, potentially, four in my car right now.  If you guys need rides to the event, please get back in touch with me so that I can set this up.  We would be able to drop you guys off at the train station we dropped you and Yare at after the last event (Stonybrook).

Hopefully this is as packed as the hype is making it sound. Unfortunately I don't think I or any of my local cronies are gonna make it out to this.

Beaver!  It won't be as fun if we don't hear about guys getting 'Beaver'd' on the day.  You're going to miss out, but I hope to see you guys at the next event.

Viva los Shops!

I'm almost entirely sure that I will see you at the Brooklyn event on the 7th.  I'll have all the information up after this weekend for my next event - it would be good to see you there.  I don't think there are going to be more than 4 or 5 guys running Shops, so I don't think that we're going to see our favorite pillar well represented.
I'll be coming up with at least two fellow team-mates... We might even kidnap a couple of the Rebel Alliance guys too.

The more the merrier.  I think we're in for a really impressive showing.  There are no conflicts with this event (outside of PT Austin) and many of the people that I
spoke to who were unable to make it to the last event have told me that they will be there for this one.  I'd love to hit something ridiculous in terms of attendance.

This is for a black lotus???  Hmm i thought we were playing for a set of lotus cobras. Oh well guess ill play anyway...

Yeah, I thought about running it for a Blacker Lotus (come on, 4 mana?!?!?!) but decided that people would probably rather play for the real thing.  If you'd like to trade the Lotus for a set of Lotus Cobra's though, I'm game.  After all, when was the last time that you saw Black Lotus attack for 8?

I'm really looking forward to the event.  I think it's going to be a great day and I can't wait to see everyone there...
