There's been a “stock” in Vintage Magic building up for some time now. It's been brewing ever since the New York Stax Exchange (NYSE for short) held their first event. Under the leadership of their CEO (and East Coast shop dominator) Nick “Prospero” Detwiler the NYSE rose to great heights doing multiple big tournaments with several NYSE members doing very well in them.
Nick has been instrumental in building the Vintage scene in the NYC/Philly area for some time now, along with putting 5c Stax back on the map as a viable contender crushing the hopes and dreams of multiple foes on the way to multiple top 8 appearances. One would say the stock of NYSE is booming. Well, this is were we come in, the good folks of RND. We've investing a lot into new talent (as we're trying to get a Dutch, Belgian, and World Vintage Champion by the end of 2010) After some rigorous negotiations, some black market shares passing hands, the signing of several contracts and granting him access to the corporate jet with unlimited flyer miles... we're proud to announce the newest addition to Team RND.
The Former CEO of NYSE, East-Coast Shop Dominator,
Nick “Prospero” Detwiler.
I'll let Nick himself explain to you all what this means for the NYSE events and the rest of team.

To my N.Y.S.E. teammates I want to say thank you. It's very tough to leave a team, especially this one.
To my R&D teammates, I'm glad to be aboard. The opportunity to work with Rich Shay, Marius and Demonic Attorney was too much to pass up.
Here's hoping that 2010 is the year of R&D...

@AngryPheldagrif, Pierce, Let me get this straight, you don't care but you care to respond. Something like that is called a "Paradox" guys, I know it's hard to understand such concepts.
@Twaun007, You're goddamn right son! I'd post the stuff that's in our trophy thread over on the team board for reference but since it's multiple pages I don't think it would fit nicely in this topic.

You haven't been around here very long, I take it. [edit]: Apparently you're some sort of 5 star member, so in that case I'd suggest asking your fellow moderator Demonic Attorney about the world-famous Pheldagrif humor (c)[edit2]: Let me clarify why no one here in the good old US of A cares: BECAUSE VINTAGE NO LONGER EXISTS HERE. Seriously, you're lucky to pull 15 people out for a piece of power these days. As a former ICBM all-star (and I only say 'former' because I've more or less given up Magic due to the time and travel constraints of being in both college and the military), it isn't even worth it for me to travel back to tournaments held by my own brother. Apparently you have some new person representing some team I've never heard of who is good or something. Wooo. Stop the presses. I can't wait to hear about his domination of the major American Vintage tournaments that no longer exist.Nick has been instrumental in building the Vintage scene in the NYC/Philly area for some time now, along with putting 5c Stax back on the map as a viable contender crushing the hopes and dreams of multiple foes on the way to multiple top 8 appearances. Translation: Nick has bailed water out of the Titanic, along with several average performances with a relic of a deck that will continue to be rightfully ignored. Why is this a thread again?

@AngryPheldagrif My profile says this: October 10, 2007, 11:27:37 AM So what's "being around very long" in your definition? [edit]: Apparently you're some sort of 5 star member, so in that case I'd suggest asking Demonic Attorney about the world-famous Pheldagrif humor(c) I meant my remark sarcastically Mr Carp. You've obviously not experienced Dutch Humor (c) in your long long track on these here boards as I couldn't find a proper picture to post as a reply to your previous one, because I was to busy picking myself up from the floor after I laughed out loud so hard at the fact that ICBM needs to pickup hobo's and then steal another person's idea to create a funny thread, I felt posting a sarcastic note was the next best thing.

I've got a good 4 years on you when it comes to these boards. And if you care to examine my 'previous posts of member' you'll see exactly what's referred to on here as Pheldagrif humor.

@AngryPheldagrif, I know you, don't worry... I've been around long enough to be familiar with most of the long time members as for your way of humor and the lack of interest in news regarding the current "Best" team in all of vintage... lets just say this: EDIT in response to your Edit. Let me clarify why no one here in the good old US of A cares: BECAUSE VINTAGE NO LONGER EXISTS HERE. The fact that you're in college gives you some credit, the fact that you're in the military gives you some as well. The fact that you're a self proclaimed Has Been talking about the lack of events when obviously you have no clue or connection with the current state of the community or who's who in it takes away almost all points gained. The lack of support from you regarding events that your own brother is having indicates a severe lack in wanting to be a part of any type of community we here have. Translation:
Nick has bailed water out of the Titanic, along with several average performances with a relic of a deck that will continue to be rightfully ignored.
Why is this a thread again? Ok, you got me I created this thread to get these types of response. Thank you very much for taking the bait This thread is turning out to be quite hilarious !

Wow, I can't believe how much vintage has changed since this announcement.
Lucky I'm on top of things and I have already rebuilt my testing gauntlet with the new top decks:
Tier 1: Owling mine with Cowardice and Nomads en-kor Erratic Explosion/Draco with Pact of the Titan to deal the last 4 damage Fluctuator Intruder Alarm.dec Dredge
Tier 2: Stasis The Deck That Shall Not Be Named Cascade Swans Mono Green Beats with Wild Dogs(they cycle!)

i just think the announcement is arbitrary. as in, this doesn't change anything for the community. I was not impressed by your roster before, should I really be now? Having not played any of you, can I judge your abilities empirically? I think not. Sure you win tournaments, but hell--I took second at my first two vintage tournaments, and I was pretty bad at the time. I see no direct correlation between skill and winning, though it helps. Look at Soly--he wins a lot, he's even beaten me the one time we've met. But I think his game's got a long way to go. If you added him to your roster I'd yawn too. Not a pop at you Soly, but your salad rep is a good example here. Team this, team that. I've gotten a bubble round in 90% of the tournaments I entered in 09. That's Vintage, Extended, Sealed, Standard. I top 8ed every ptq I entered (8th, 4th, 1st), and won a decent sized vintage event too. I was named dropped for helping design my good friend Piazza's 2nd place GP LA deck. Then I helped design the 5c aggro deck that helped my boy Conely to a 4th at Honolulu--I was the only other person in the room playing it, and had the same constructed record leading into the draft portion (still can't draft Alara block lol) and got another name drop/shout out in his t8 profile. I'm ranked in the top 5 of CO for both constructed and limited (Paul Cheon, and Conley Woods take the top slots) . . . it's hard to WOW me . . . my point is, I'm pretty fuckin awesome but I don't start threads over it!

To my R&D teammates, I'm glad to be aboard. The opportunity to work with Rich Shay, Marius and Demonic Attorney was too much to pass up.
I can't imagine you ever leaving your team, good luck Nick. Who is Marius though? @AngryPheldagrif My profile says this: October 10, 2007, 11:27:37 AM So what's "being around very long" in your definition? That's pretty funny! The fact that you're in college gives you some credit, the fact that you're in the military gives you some as well. He also does push-ups at Magic tournaments. That's got to count for something. Tier 1: Owling mine with Cowardice and Nomads en-kor Erratic Explosion/Draco with Pact of the Titan to deal the last 4 damage Fluctuator Intruder Alarm.dec Dredge This person left out ABM and NoblePanther.dec so I would be wary of his gauntlet. Look at Soly--he wins a lot He wins hearts too, but I see he hasn't won yours yet. I meant my remark sarcastically Mr Carp. You've obviously not experienced Dutch Humor(c) in your long long track on these here boards I regret to inform you, sir, that your thread has been HIJACKED. @Ben: That is some of the funniest shit I've seen in a thread in a long time. That's untrue; if soly and I weren't cool I never would have used him for such an example. He knows I respect his game, just less than he respects his own game
I certainly hope this addition works well for all parties involved. I merely hope that such threads can be avoided in the future
