I'm going to be updating this thread regarding The Mana Crypt Weekly Vintage

Despite the fact some people couldn't make it we still had 7 people show up, we played Swiss + 1 (4 rounds) and Arjan (Zieby) with Almost Blue ended up winning the event with 3-1 (Getting paired vs Martin with Sadistic Sui round 1 AGAIN Wink for the 10th time in a row now and promptly losing it )

Meta breakdown:

2 Storm (TPS, Almost Blue)
1 Oath
1 Sadistic Sui
2 Shop (1x 5c, 1x MUD aggro)
1 Dredge

People and decks played:
Arjan "Zieby"  Bos (Almost Blue)
Bart "Ancestral_Recal" Marijnissen (TPS)
Sander Goosens (Oath)
Sander v/d Corput (Dredge)
Martin "Art Ov War" Nuijten (Sadistic Sui)
Ruud Bimmel (MUD aggro)
Marius "Marske" van Zundert (5c Stax RND build)

@Robrecht.
Arjan's report: 3rd place with Almost Blue aka WATSKEBURT?!

Beyond some sideboard adjustments it's the same deck card for card.

@Dennis,
It was great having you around Wink Our match was stellar, I haven't played such a control mirror since Control Slavers heyday. It's been a very long time since I lost to somebody in turn 5 of extra time with only 1 game played.

@Arjan,
I had some very good matches it's a shame my matches against Dennis came down to me getting mana screwed (not drawing another source for 5 turns) both games. I did manage to beat him afterwards though. Our matches were once again a pleasure and I felt they could have gone both ways.

I did manage to 2-0 Dredge (Sander vd Corput) with some very thight play. Along with winning after being Sad Sacced by Oath (Sander Goosens) and Sad Saccing him after that (with Kicker) removing all his chances of getting the Iona stuck in his hand into play dropping Necro and eventually winning by him decking himself were the highlights of my evening which was once again enjoyable.

Standings after last night, we had Paul de Rijk (the winner of TDV XI) show up and compete, I got in second because of tiebreakers (Martin had a bye and I didn't)

Martin Nuyten: Dredge
Marius van Zundert: The Deck
Sharona Koch: Workshop Aggro
Paul De Rijk: GWSx
Sander Goosens: Oath
Bart Marijnissen: Dredge
Arjan Bos: ANT (Homebrew)

I got through the first rounds (Facing Martin in round 1 and Bart in Round 2) by defeating dredge (2-0 both times) then I lost to Paul piloting GWSx because I punted massively, then I beat Arjan (again 2-0) then I got in 2nd (winning 3 WWK boosters) on the fact of tiebreakers... (dammit) I ended up with the final record of 3-1 in matches 6-2 in games which is solid enough.

Hope to see some other guys next week when I'll be adding a Misty Rainforest to the price pool.

Standings after 3 rounds:

Marius van Zundert: The Deck 3-0
Bart Marijnissen: Ichorid 2-1
Sander Goosens: Ichorid 2-1
Arjan Bos: Drain Tendrils 2-1
Paul de Rijk: GWSx 1-2
Martin Nuyten: The Deck 0-3

We played a top 4 because the night was still young.
Bart --> Marius
Arjan --> Sander

Finals:
Arjan --> Bart

I was very happy with my deck, I played 4 times against Ichorid and lost 1. I corrected this in the finals and won 2-1.
Ravenous Trap was insane and Jace was very good when playing aginst The Deck. I Received a U-Fetch for my effort.

Until next time.

I got to face dredge in rounds 1 and 2 (again for the second straight week) beating them with 2-0 then I faced Martin with The Deck which ended up in a 60 card mirror (different SB) which I also won with 2-0. Then into the top 4 facing dredge a 3rd time proved to be to much (lost 1-2) although It's possible I gave the game away due to incorrect mulligans. I ended up with the same record as last week (6-2 in games 3-1 in matches) which is a fun fact.

I had a blast once again and I'm glad my build turned out to be working correct, here's to next week!

(I've taken some pic's during the night which will be up somewhere this week to give you guys an impression)

Results 13th of April 2010.

Arjan Bos 5-0-0 with Tezz (Ubgw)
Bart Marijnissen 2-1-0 with THE Deck
Marius van Zundert 2-1-0 with THE Deck
Sander v/d Corput 2-3-0 With Goblins
Sharona ? 2-3-0 with Workshop Aggro
Sander Goosens 1-4-0 with Dredge

The event was nice and it is good to see that people try new decks once in a while.
Both matches I played against the deck where won with 2-0
I only lost a game 1 against Dredge and a Game 1 against Workshop Aggro.

Again, Jace is BONKERS.

I guess not Wink at least I wanted to win the event (which I did) and I think I could have handled Oath Razz for what that's worth.

Since the discussion regarding the deck I played was going on so strongly I split the topic and started a thread out in the Open forum with the decklist and the meat of the discussion. Lets keep this thread for results.

I had a real blast again and I do hope we keep getting some new blood, there are a lot of people I'm missing at these events though (you know who you are)...

Another win for RND Tezz and another Marsh Flats for me, which I traded in for a couple of boosters, one of them had a Jace, The Mindsculptor... Guess it was my lucky day Wink
