Quick Mage
UG
Creature -- Human Wizard
You may cast multicolored cards as though they had flash.
2/2

I'm not sure if the right wording for this is more like Vedalken Orrery (what I suggest above) or more like Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir (something like "Multicolored cards you own that aren't on the battlefield have flash.")  I don't think either wording would result in this card itself having Flash.  I'm not sure if that's correct or not.  I kind of like it if the first one you cast doesn't have flash, but if you cast a second one, it does.

Suggestions for a better name would be appreciated.  If this were a specific sort of multicolored block (say, Ravnica) it could be something like "Guildpact Adept".

I think you need to add "nonland". It's possible to have lands that are colored (zomg two Painter's Servants in play, set to red and blue. Or one and Dryad Arbor).

Or rephrase to "multicolored spells".

Even ignoring the templating issue of not casting lands, is allowing that interaction really so terrible a thing? Most of the time that sounds like a three-card-combo equivalent to Exploration.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.

I don't think nonland is necessary. Teferi gives Dryad Arbor Flash but you still can't play Dryad Arbor during an opponents turn. The current wording specifies "cast" which doesn't apply to lands, anyway. Nothing can give you permission to cast a land.

It may be correct to add nonland nevertheless just to make it clear that you can't play lands because of this. Although I don't like it because it might imply that you could if it didn't say nonland. It might also contribute to players thinking lands that produce different colors of mana are multicolored. Maybe some reminder text would clarify things?

Even if nuances of the card prevent you from playing lands during an opponent's turn, it's a good idea to be explicit about it so we don't confuse players.

You could always put it as a reminder text on the card if it is really necessary.
