20 People showed, with Lots of Oath, 2 Stax, 2 Dark Depths (I think), 2 Fish, TPS, Tez/Vault, and Charbelcher.
Also, 6 new faces which was nice.

5 Rounds of Swiss with cut to top 4

Top 4:

JefftheFob scoops to Webster
Matt something (Tezz) vs Ryan Devine (Oath)

Lists will be up on www.Eudemonia.net/p9 sooner or later.  Potato (Ryan) should have a nice report up soon as he brought his yellow legal pad with him.

I took some pics, but I just moved and can't upload them (I'm sneaking into work for mini-internet access)

Credmond's Coatl gets in there!

Ochoa's 4/5 Goyf keeps 2 Pridemages at bay.

Potato vs Belcher

Mox Mox Null Rod Go!  It didn't turn out well for Campee

New faces! Resolving Fact or Fiction

Luis' The Deck facing down Belcher!

Patrick (The Deck) facing down Credmonds Remora deck

This STAX player and I have not crossed paths yet.

My mini-report:

Round 1 vs Charles.
G1: I get 2 Sphere's of Resistance out on turn 1.  Big Golem beats ensue.
G2: He gets turn 1 land, Mana Vault, I play turn 1 Tangle Wire.  Big beats ensue

Round 2 vs ?Matt playing ?
G1: He gets game loss
G2: No boarding. I get Multple sphere's and Golems and smash face.

Round 3: David Ochoa
G1: I get Lots of big Golems in quick and smash face
G2: His mox monkey eats my field, then gets some Life from the Loam/Strip recursion to lock me out under my own sphere.
g3: I try to get a Chalice for 2 to stop his Goyfs, but he Ninja's two out with Black Lotus the turn before I could play Chalice for 2.  Then he masterfully Compulsive Researches into discarding two more card types to pump both Goyfs. I die 2 turns later.
Upon reflection, I had no idea what to side in or out vs The Deck. This is the first time it occured to me that T.Crypt and Relic are good against goyfs!

Round 4: Jeffthefob
G1: I get lots of spheres and golems swinging quickly
G2: He gets a quick Oath and Oaths.
G3: He forces my first two threats, then plays lots of mana.  Then I play my singleton Null Rod to shut off his top/artifact mana.  Eventually he Nature's Claim's it and has fun topping for the next 20 turns. Literally.  I draw land after mana source.  Eventually, I get a Chalice for 2 on the board, then a 2nd Chalice for 2, but alas, no creatures.  Mishra's Factory comes into to save the day, until Jeff lays a pithing needle naming Factory.  I get a crucible on the field and start working on jeff's mana base, but he hardcasts a big Dragon right around turn 0 of extra turns.  Since I was at 28 life due to Nature's Claim, I was doing pretty good and survived to turn 5 with 1 life left.  As I have made top 4 on a 3-1-1 record, neither Jeff nor I were willing to conceed.

Round 5: I forget his hame playing what I THOUGHT was Charbelcher
G1: I mull to 5 to get something to let me lock down Belcher.  Belcher played first, so IF I live, I want to stay in it.
It turns out he wasn't playing Belcher. I had him confused with his buddy, and he plays an Oath shortly and Kills me.
G2: Lots of locks and Golems and I win
G3: I lose.  I don't remember details.

If I won, I would make top 4 certainly, as Jeffthefob and I were at 7 points with lots of other 6 point people fighting for a spot.  My opponent was one of those six people and didn't make top 4.  It was actually a pretty exciting round 5 because everyone but Ochoa had to play it out.

Great tourney! I can't wait to learn how to SB this kind of deck in the future.

Im just wondering why the Oath lists arent running any outs for Chalice@2 maindeck.. I suppose, that g1 Stax player would play nearly always Lodestone Golem for 4 mana avaiable instead of Chalice? And that its really difficult to cast 3cc spell nowadays..

It is about knowing the meta.  There is only 1 consistent Stax player, Lotushead.  I am pretty kold to chalice and that is how I got my draw in rd. 4 g3 against Lotushead when I used up both of my Nature's Claim and try to go big with Yawg. Will etc etc.  Echoing Truth is obv. better against Fish/creature decks (which I expect more of) and it played a huge role in my rd 5. win against 2-land Belcher when playing for top 4.

I know Chalice @ 2 will screw me over, but the positive seem to outweigh the negative.  And you know, mise.

This was one of the few times I chose NOT to play Chalice maindeck. Also, first time in a while that I didn't play Jester's Caps at all.

Pics are up in original post plus my mini-report.

Who won this thing anyways?

Hi everyone! Here's my official report: http://community.eudemonia.net/content/p9-mox-jet-2010#comment-549

Due to technical difficulties, I couldn't provide any pictures.

Read the whole way down for a surprise anticlimax ending!

Well, playing 1 natures claim maindeck wouldn't be a bad idea. Tbh, I'd consider it after what I saw on sunday. Null Rod made my round 1 sinificantly harder than it needed to be.
