The event has been postponed. I apologize for any inconveniences. We'll update when the last two weekends will be.

Thanks for the quick response, Dean/Eric!
Looks like I will actually get to TEST my deck before bringing to a tourney this time!
Hopefully the SoCal/Reno crews can readjust their plans accordingly.

Oh god. Nice way to cancel an event like 2 days prior. You do you know there were SoCal people planning to drive up right? Pretty fucking unreal, was actually very looking forward to playing vintage this week.
What is the reason? There were no conflicts, if you reschedule an event because couple people couldn't show up, then that is ridiculous. Not everyone can make it at a certain date, it isn't like a +10/20 people difference. By changing a date sure you are getting some people to go because they can't make it on these dates, but that means you are actually screwing others who made their plans ahead of time. Life never works out the way you want to, when we are responsible adults, shit happens; scheduling conflicts happens. There are people (Tom Martell) who canceled a different trip so he can make it to this event. There are SoCal people (Phil T. and Matt S.) who are going to be up for this event....n
Now, if you did it because of Gencon, then that is just actually retarded. For the ENTIRE time Eudo ran its Mox Series, they never canceled a date or even considered Gencon. And besides, Web's prior post was actually right on the spot.
No offense and my apologies to BC and Brett, it isn't that I don't want you guys to attend these events. It is just the fact that Eudo is canceling an event like literally 2 days before for some goddamn unknown reason really tilt me. And you two just happened to mention here that you guys can't make it.
Again, sorry if I sound offensive, I don't mean any harms. But I am actually not happy with how Eudo announce an event like a month prior and then decide to postpone it 2 days prior.

Gencon is next weekend, in conflict with the Lotus tournament, not this weekend's Recall tournament. Gencon could not have been the reason for the postponement.

http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/EDIT ***IMPORTANT*** If I host an Ancestral tourney, would any Nor Cal'ers come down to LA to play in it? PLEASE RESPOND ASAP yes or no so I can tell whether it will be worth it to host and I can spread the word if so.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I may be able to convince a couple from SF to go to LA depending on when it happened. This weekend, no.

This sunday is the timeframe I had in mind. I really wanted to battle and there are GPs/Gencon/PT coming up that will prevent myself and others like web and lsv from playing in the next 4-5 weeks. I have a venue to host now, if I get enough interest, I can put on a tourney this Sunday for an ancestral recall.

Yeah, this is pretty disappointing. It would be nice to know more about why this was cancelled, though I'm not assuming anything. It is just frustrating to get 3 days notice about a cancellation of a tournament many of us planned to attend, especially when many people made plans regarding the event well in advance. If you want people TO plan around eudemonia's announced tournament dates, it would definitely help if we knew why this happened and why it (hopefully) won't happen in the future.
Thanks.

is it possible that the postponement was due to lack of an ancestral recall regardless, I'll just echo the frustration of others by saying that 3 day cancellation is pretty lame.

I have no idea whatsoever why this event was postponed. I spoke with Ryan about it a week ago, and he said Dean had indicated that dean didn't want to run an event this weekend. I understand that at some point dean said he didn't want to run an event the week after Superstars ran an event, but I don't think that's a valid case for canceling this one. Hopefully Dean will give us some more info...

Before we go on tilt that the TOs only gave a few days notice about cancelling the tourney, let's not forget to be gracious that they host these Vintage events for us.
These events are put together by real flesh and blood people. Sh@t happens at the last minute sometimes.

Yes, let's be extremely gracious that they let us give them our money and let us patron their store... I don't know what else I would do with my money if they weren't kind enough to take it from me. Oh wait, that isn't how this works. Businesses thank customers for choosing them and in an effort to keep customers they don't randomly cancel events 2 days in advance.

Eudemonia has done (I think) 40ish of these tourneys, and rarely, if ever, actually canceled a tourney without good reason. If Dean cancelled it so as not to follow up a Superstars tourney, well, some people can't make every tourney, and have to make a choice. Go to this one, or that one. Only a few (me) can actually make it to just about every one of these. People who couldn't make last week's SuperStars tourney very likely passed it up to be able to make it to this one. Basically, if we knew the reason why this is postponed, we would probably complain less, unless we didn't like the reason. Starting late August, I start doing work stuff on Sundays for 6 weeks, so I will likely miss out on Ancestral and Lotus tourney, and I own neither at the moment.

This project did eat up about 8 hours of my time. (of course, a second video would take up maybe 30 minutes now. )

I apologize for cancelling the event. There was a miscommunication between our event coordinator and I about the dates. After realizing the confusion, we discussed the situation and decided to cancel. In hindsight, it was a terrible mistake and in the future, we will go ahead with the event. Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We will let the community know soon what date the event will be.

Also, we do not like running our events a week before or after Superstars. From our experience, having some time between the event increases attendance. More people = more prizes and it seems to me that it is better for everyone.
