Michael Klemic played a modified Conley Woods deck (as seen on ChannelFireball)

Unfortunately he doesn't post here, so he can't elaborate how that worked out or what went wrong or right. Enjoy!
(I changed setting on my phone to a little higher resolution)

thanks for the meta breakdown.  i wish all reports had this.

so... what is this... 2 months without any dredge in the bay?  all those sideboard slots...

game 2 against conley.dec in last round of swiss: i got owned when cruicible hit with fastbond+strip mine online. michael took out 5 lands... nice trade for 5 life.  i think he killed me with 1/1 spirits that failed to support the krosened oath.

30% fish
22% tezz
13% oath
13% shops
+stuff

I like the diversity of the top 8. austins deck went nuts against mark in quarter finals.

Lin's deck looks sweet, wonder where he got the list :-/

You know it's time to change decks when people have Ray of Revelation SB and True Believer MD; been a nice ride since Dec.

And LOL @ myself beating Preston in the standing.

Web and I went cliffing and drinking after 4 rounds; it was very sweet.

Lin's Sphinx faces down Charles' Leviathon

Austin trying to fight through Campee's Defishence

Credmond with that Bloodghast Stax list in top 8 vs Eric

One of these two will advance to top 4 where the prizes are, and the other is Tyler of Team Scrubby Bubbles from Reno (4 hours away from SuperStars!)

Austin vs Mark in top 8.

Lin vs Adam top 8

A little collection of Charles vs Tylers interesting game.  I only saw Charles side of it.  He had to live through his two bobs before marit Lage could swing unhindered.

Another group of players traveling 200+ miles to get here to get paired up against each other.

I don't know what's going on, but that's Brian Hoyt (Dream Halls/Mirror Mirror guy)  He just found out what Goyf are going for and traded his for a Library! Welcome to the Power10 club!

Webster vs Austin.  Austing trying to get that REB out of Webster's hand to start the REAL counter war.  Oh, and Web's Facted into 5 mana sources. Doh!

Oath vs Predator.  The reflected out card might have been Lin's Dragon.

Austin's Fire/Ice forces CDizzle to sac Pridemage and take out Austin's Mox Emerald, which was surprising to Austin who next turn (at like 1 life) to play his Time Vault and go infy!

Credmond ramping up to 11!

Ochoa sealing the deal vs Brian's Hierarchs by drawing like 50 bajillion cards.

Credmond's got all the cards so gets to play a new list every tourney!

Lin won through this by getting his Orchard to give me a 2nd token while my first token and factory chipped away at his very low life total.  Lin finished the game with 1 life point. Doh!

Adam vs Austin

Credmond vs LSD25 (I think)

Jeffthefob beat someone today.  Maybe it was this guy.

Welcome to NorCal Cdizzle.  Webster's your first opponent!

Austin said he Brainstormed with Jace like 6 times this game.  Not counting the Brainstorm in his hand.

Whew. That was a lot of pictures.  It's ANNOYING to email myself cellphone pics one at a time on my cellphone!
But anythings better than no pics!  Lists 5-8 later (and list 9)

I had a lot of fun playing with you guys. It's good to see attendance staying at 20+ and hopefully we can get to 30 or more.

Even with all of the hate in the field, it's interesting to see an oath list in the finals.

The selkieless selkie slam list looks like the way to go because that version of the deck is really starting to put up numbers and cutting away from Tezz domination. I guess selkie decks were underperforming until now with selkie clogging up their hands and acting as "win-more". Lists with 0-1 selkie and 3-4 meddling mages are looking solid. The pridemage of course is the mvp in a diverse meta able to hit oath, vault, and shops.

Ya i strongly considered putting in more creature hate aside from massacre but i opted away from that and i wish i would have gone with my origonal idea of putting an edict and darkblast in the sideboard would have been a stellar move. C Dizzle was just like hey hows it going i dont need to cut my deck cause i went turn 1 true believe you lose lol.

We had fun game after our round matches were over. He didnt go turn one or two true believe and i went oh hey this is what tps does you lose. lol

See you guys in a month.

LOL! When I pitched the deck to my team I went through all of my reasons why the deck was good. As an afterthought I said, "And in the unlikely event that you happen to see TPS; they're screwed!"  Very Happy But the real reason I wasn't cutting your deck was because I was 90% sure we weren't in contention for T8 anyway. And you also appeared to randomize sufficiently on your own.

Welcome to NorCal Cdizzle.  Webster's your first opponent!

Second time that's happened to me! Always fun to see Web R1. Playing that guy SUCKS. Actually, with the exception of him getting a little frustrated in our match this time, Dave's always been VERY cool to me. He just doesn't talk or smile during our matches. It can be a little unnerving. I always play very slowly and methodically against Dave because he's sooooo good as a player. I should probably start playing that way in EVERY match I play.

Austin's Fire/Ice forces CDizzle to sac Pridemage and take out Austin's Mox Emerald, which was surprising to Austin who next turn (at like 1 life) to play his Time Vault and go infy!

This was one of my more interesting (and as I think about it more, terrible) plays. First of all, I will readily admit that I tense up a lot when I'm down a game and tend to get on tilt a little bit. It's part of my play that I really need to work on. When I won game 1 on the day, I won the match 2-0, but when I lost game 1, I lost the match 0-2. I'm not making excuses for my bad play, just pointing out my mental tendencies. So I was in mental desperation mode despite the fact that I had Austin on a 2-turn clock. Austin had his Voltaic Key in play and tapped down to 3 available mana (including his Mox Emerald) to play Fire/Ice to shock my Pridemage. Instead of just taking the higher EV play and destroying his Key and putting him in a really BAD spot (he had 1 card in hand which I was relatively sure was Time Vault), I targeted the Mox Emrald, hoping he wouldn't float mana due to his surprise at my play. That way, if he had Time Vault in hand, I would Daze it and all but lock him out of a win. There was also the off chance that he didn't have Time Vault. After reaching for his Mox and hesitating, he did float mana and cast the Time Vault. I Dazed and he paid for Daze, tapping him out. This gave me a turn with him at 3 and no cards in hand with two Noble Hierarchs in play on my side. I can draw 5 cards that win me the game right there (2 x Noble Hierarch, 2 x Qasali Pridemage and Time Walk) and six other cards that help enough to probably win (3 x Null Rod, 1 x Stifle and 2 x Pithing Needle) and Ancestral Recall gives me a shot at any of those cards, too. That's twelve cards that help me out of about 40 left in my deck.

If I had just hit Key, Austin could have drawn Regrowth, Yawg Will, Tez, Tinker and another Key (if he plays 2) and that's about it (though I don't know his deck and there may have been more outs than that). He had about 30 cards left. I took a chance of hitting one of my 12 in 40 instead of letting Austin try to hit one of his 5 in 30. I'm not a math and physics major (I still think seven minus five is two), but I'm pretty sure I took the bad odds. I just didn't think straight and lost the game because of it.

Great day, though. I traded in a bunch of Legacy and Extended stuff I'll never use for an Ancestral Recall. And the crowd that's been at Superstars has been great lately. Charles was a really cool guy that I met for the first time. I had an interesting discussion on Fish with Eric. It really is a pleasure to drive 4+ hours to play with a bunch of guys that make us want to take the trip. We'll probably see you guys again in May!

BTW- Big props to Tyler from Team Scrubby Bubbles for making 3 straight T8. And also to Klemic for playing Vinelasher Kudzu.dec That's been one of my pet projects for a long time, but I've never made it good enough to actually take to a tourney.

Tyler's list is 5 cards short on the scan.
In the typed up version you also missed 2 Cabal Therapy and 3 Thoughtseize.

Fixed therapies and Thoughtseize.

I took a closer look at the list and the 2 swamps looks more like 7 swamps now.
ALso, there is a 59/15 scribble at the top of the sheet suggesting 1 card short.

Yeah, 7 Swamps definitely make sense instead of 2  Wink
I guess the Blolodstained Mires got corrected to 2 after the list was found to be one card short. It is 60/15 now.
