I'll be showing up. If I can come down from Albany, others from the NE can make it down too.

If I can make it all the way from Rockville Centre, then I expect everyone to be able to.

You, my friend, are not judging as far as I know.  I have to confirm with Paskoff, but I believe that he's working the event.  I'm not 100% sure, as I don't remember mentioning it to him, and I don't see my tournament up on IslandhomeMTG.com.

You don't have to play in the event, but you absolutely do have to show up for the after party.  We're going to have nearly the full Philly crew, and you have to spend a night with them - they're nearly as crazy as Jimmy.  And I think I'm up for a few White Russians after the last few weeks that I've had...

Who's ready for this thing?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO FEAR COASTER PRICE GOUGING IF YOU WIN THIS TOURNAMENT!

I would disorganize your whole collection in a fit of rage if I wouldn't feel compelled to organize it all over again.

I hate you.

I am so excited for both this event and the after party. Should be epic, and I could use a sweet coaster. Also, I must ask the question, Jimmy are you bringing the trophy?

Good luck on that...

I'd start a donation for the God of Thunder to have another trophy.

I'm going to try to make this. It's the last Vintage event in the area before I leave for Vegas, so I'd like to go. Problem is, I have to drop someone off at the Philly airport at about 7AM. Hopefully I have enough time after to meet up with some people and make the trip up.

Joe you should just drop that person off an hour earlier and tell them to read a book or sleep. I did the same thing once dropping someone off at jfk than going to Philly (different order). It's doable as long as there isn't some kind of crazi long island traffic fuckup like a flipped over tanker or the cloverfield monster.

Given my run of scheduling events during natural or man made disasters (two blizzards, two tanker fires on the Long Island Expressway) I hold my breath until the event starts.

I don't know if I can make this.  If I can't, the next time I'll be able to sling Vintage cards will be in late August.

We're now 24 hours away from round 1.

Having heard about all the guys making the trip, I have to think that our showing tomorrow is going to be very good.

I hope to see you all there!

i lost my ability to play magic.  I sat down drew 7 look at my hand and was like... what the hell game is this!  After a quick moment i regained my senses and realized that i had forgotten everything.  I quickly pulled out a 4th edition rule book and began reading it.   I am slowly reteaching myself and hope to make a full recovery by tomorrow morning.

Sadly, I don't think there's any way I can make this.  I've been trying to work it out among the other chores I have to accomplish in order to hit up the events I want to play the next 8 weeks, and I just can't make it work this weekend.  I'm sorry Nick.   Sad

That being said - those of you reading this who are on the fence, I implore you to attend this tournament.  If you are in the NY/MD/PA/NJ/DE area and don't go to this tournament, you better have a good reason.  These tournaments are awesome, they're always well run, great TO, great judge, and the store has TWO BATHROOMS!  Trust me, make the trip.

Do it for the after-tournament dinner, or the wolf shirts, or the children - think of the children, you heartless bastard!

SUPPORT VINTAGE and go play in this tournament!!!

Final preparations are complete, and we're ready to rock and roll.  There was one hiccup, and I'll announce this tomorrow for anyone who doesn't see it here in time: due to an error, the 3rd/4th place prizes, at 50 entrants, will be switched to Italian Mana Drains, in lieu of Revised Underground Seas.  I can't imagine this being a sticking point for anyone, as the Drains are worth equal money, but I felt it worth noting nonetheless.

That's that, and I hope to see you all tomorrow.  I've heard from more than 50 people that they will be making the trip - let's make this happen!

So I heard 47 players and some "Nick Coss" fellow in the top 8.  Any other news?

(obviously I also know Ryan Glackin came in 10th due to his obsessive love of Twitter)
