For everyone who was hesitent to come to the nyse lite events due to store layout and chairs, I can tell you that this is no longer an issue. I was at the depot last friday, and the store is now finished. There are tables and chairs for 25+ so come to the next one as I am sure it will be a blast.
Venue gets -100 if the velcro ball game is gone It's still there, though I don't think it's up on the walls any more. I was blown away by the new setup - it's infinitely better than it was in the past. I'm going to ask Mikey Egan or Max Brown to put the pictures up. The setup is perfect now, and should allow for the kind of growth that is necessary.

We had a small group fighting it out tonight, and I'm proud to say that R&D Tezz took the tournament down. Congratulations to Mikey Egan, for taking the event down.

I mean you could bring ice cream and be social. Does that constitute an ice cream social?

After a back breaking 2 rounds. My reign of terror was ended by a mull to 3 and a my lands getting reb'd. We need more people to show up to these events. Having to play greg and austin in a single elim is terrible. I'd rather play them in the top 8 where its not like 1 loss and ur done. So please if u r in the long island area or nyc come on down. I'm sure if we get enough people we can bump these events up a little bit. So come on down and play. Hell if u come to the event from like nyc or nj I will pay for ur entry. Also that offers first come first serve max 3 people. I don't want to shell out like 200 bucks. I mean I love vintage

Because Mr. Coss is running another awesome event this weekend, there will be no N.Y.S.E. weekly Vintage tournament. I heartily encourage anybody from the Island to take the trip down to Philly to participate in what has become, in my opinion, the best Vintage scene in the U.S. The New York - Philly corridor is the new epicenter of Vintage, and the Philly Open is the biggest event out there right now. Don't miss it.
There will be another N.Y.S.E. tournament held at Comicbook Depot on May 16th. 1st place prize is a Mishra's Workshop, second place is determined upon hte number of entrants. Entry is $15, 15 proxies are permitted (use a Sharpie and write on the cards, do not make photocopies, as they're thicker than the average card, and thus illegal proxies). All the information on the event is up on Facebook, and as soon as I'm home from work, I'll edit this to include the address (which you can find on page 1 if you're diligently looking to come).
Hope to see everyone in Philly, and then at Depot on the 16th!

It seems like we're going to have quite the crowd on Sunday, and I have to say, I'm looking forward to it.
With the expectation that the crowd may be a little bigger, I'm willing to go a little farther as well - I'm going to upgrade the prize support from a Workshop to an Unlimited Timetwister in really nice shape.
So, the final details:
What:
$15, 15 proxy, non-sanctioned Vintage tournament for an Unlimited Timetwister.
Second place prize will be added at 20 entrants, and will be in the $30 dollar range.
There will be scaling prize support - so if we get more entrants, there will be more prizes added. With 25 or so there will be prizes to the top 4.
When:
Sunday, May 16th, 2010 11 am registration, 12 noon (prompt!) start.
Deck registration sheets will be in use this time.
Where:
The Comicbook Depot 2847 Jerusalem Avenue Wantagh, NY 11793-2016 (516) 221-9337
So, I hope everybody's psyched, and I hope to see you all there on Sunday!

Alright, so I've spoken with Mark of Mark's Comics fame, and I have all the info on the next Mark's Comics Vintage tournament. Here we go:
What:
Saturday Night Vintage $10 Blue Dual Tournament Scaling Prize Support 15 proxy, non-sanctioned Vintage
Where:
Marks Comics & Collectibles 291 North Central Avenue Valley Stream, NY 11580-2525 (516) 872-5919
When:
Saturday, May 22nd 5:30pm registration, 6pm start.
This will be the final tune-up for everybody before N.Y.S.E. VIII. I would love to see everybody there, getting ready for the big event at the end of the month...

JR.
It was good to meet you JR. I hope that you can make it down to some of the future events... The Top 4 of the tournament was: 1. Jake Gans - MUD 2. Mike Bauer - Noble Fish 3. Austin Pollack - Oath 4. JR - Goblins MUD took down Goblins, Fish took down Oath. Then MUD took down Fish in 3 to win the Twister. As soon as I get home from work I'm going to go over the lists, and I'll be sure to have them up by tomorrow. We had 16 guys, which isn't quite what I had hoped for, but it's not a bad showing. We have one more event coming up next weekend (at Mark's Comics) before we have the next N.Y.S.E. Lotus tournament (on May 29th at Brothers Grimm.) I hope you all had a great time, and I hope to see you all on the 29th!
