Shortut
 {1} {U} {U} {U}
Instant
Split Second
End the phase.  (Lots of reminder text)

Time stop worked out pretty well, but the reminder text on this thing might need to be so atrocious as to make it unworkable.  Thoughts?

Edits:
- Added Split Second.

Standard disclaimer:  Apologies if you've designed this card or something similar.  No, I don't regularly review each and every card idea posted here and in other forums.

Intuitively, I'd expect it to have issues. As you said though, Time Stop hasn't made the game fall apart. Not sure how much of a difference it makes that instead of EVERYTHING unresolved doesn't happen, only some unresolved things do.

At first guess, everything on the stack is exiled, mana pools empty, and anything else that would naturally happen in the phase (combat, card draw) is simply skipped? Might not be too terrible.

Can't help feeling like I'm missing something though.

Seems to me that if Time Stop worked, this should work too.

It should probably have split second like Time Stop in my opinion.

 {1} {U} {U} is probably undercosted for an unanswerable counterspell, which this does and more.

I thought FFSOF was saying that in terms of fluff, Time Stop should have had split second (it currently does not), and that this one has a similar feel.

The cost is  {1} {U} {U} {U}, not  {1} {U} {U}.  Not sure if that was a typo on your part, or whether you thought the cmc was 3.

Sorry, that was my misread.  {1} {U} {U} {U} sounds fine to me.

not quite because this card would have reminder text similar to Time Stop.  Namely:  "Exile all spells and abilities on the stack, including this one"
