This tournament marks one years worth of N.Y.S.E. events. I started a year ago with 31 guys at Friendly Neighborhood Comics. Now, we have a flourishing community, many new, dedicated players, and a bright future. My sincere thanks to everyone who has supported me, and my N.Y.S.E. events in the past, and here's hoping that the future is as bright as I believe it to be...

It has truly been a great year for the Long Island magic community. I remember discussing the details of the first NYSE tournament and fantasizing about getting together a strong local player base, which is now of course, a reality. I am proud to have been a part of this last year of NYSE events and look forward to stronger showings and more support for some of the most fun I've had since I started playing this game.
I will be there in force calling grand tichus like its my job

Holy mother of all event conflicts Nick! What a bummer running this against GP: Columbus! (Now certified to be 100% free of Mystical Tutors!)
I was thinking of skipping the GP and trekking up to the Island (as a cost-saving measure) but then I had to go ahead and win three byes for Columbus courtesy of Matt Elias' Cats.dec list. Now I have no choice but to go.
Now that I think of it I actually won money at the last GP: Columbus running Hate Flash Counterslivers (beating the deck that won the whole thing along the way, albeit not played by the winner) so I have to represent. Sorry!

There will also be a special playmat given out at this event, done by Pennsylvania's own Keith Seals. Keith has done some awesome work for Nick Coss's Philly Open events, and I'm looking forward to handing out an awesome playmat to someone on the 31st.
As soon as I get my bearings straight, I'll have pictures posted with some of the work that Keith has done. I think you'll all be a fan of "Grim Visions"...

Nick, I am sad that I have not made it to one of your events yet this year. As much as I don't like vintage I think you do a good job at these and they are definitely fun. I am on the GP train with a bunch of the other clowns but I hope you have a great turnout regardless!

Prize structure for 2nd-8th has been confirmed.
Additionally, I have decided to raffle off the awesome playmat that Keith Seals has been working on. Raffle tickets will be $2 apiece. Winner gets one of the nicest playmats you could ever hope to have...

So, there is an important piece of information that changes things a bit for me, and, I hope, for you guys as well.
A local area player (non-Vintage) who is a friend to several of us had his deck stolen on Friday. He's just a kid, and he's pretty crushed right now.
I am going to change the details of the raffle - all the proceeds from the raffle will go to Dylan Richards to help him put his deck back together. I have a few other things in mind, but I'll let everybody know what I'm thinking later tonight, after I speak with him.
