Hey guys,
Because of poor attendance recently (we had ... three people in September?) we're going to skip October and have Vintage again in November.  See you then!

+1

Also, Oct 16th is the weekend of GP San Diego, yes? A rescedule is probably a good idea. Nov 20 is the weekend before Thanksgiving, so hopefully it will work out for everybody.

http://www.wizards.com/Magic/TCG/Events.aspx?x=events/magic/worlds

So the events at worlds are now up, and the only Vintage action is first come first serve generic tournies for booster packs. :/

I would rather test my sealed skills in the fri/sat ptq for Honolulu.

But if a real Vintage event were held, I would be totally down.  You bay area folk should start talking to the Superstars people and make something happen!  The 2004 Worlds Vintage side event was EPIC!

I will certainly play at a vintage event on worlds weekend, especially if it's anywhere geographically near worlds itself!

@potato and any other SuperStars regulars: Pester whoever is in charge to have a Vintage (mox) event.  Worlds 2004 had like 90+ players for Lotus, Recal, Sapphire, Library. (and Wizards begrudgingly put up draft sets for others in top 8).  Channel Fireball would probably love to have their logo up at a Vintage Event at worlds. Win-win I think.

Also, post link to the Davis tourney in yer facebook. I only have local Magic players as friiends on FB.

I would love to have a 30+ local tourney to kick things off.

I talked to Head Judge Eric Levine about Superstars sponsering a mox tourney at Worlds.

Apparently, it's not totally up to Superstars to make that call. It has something to do with the numbers of people showing up to Vintage side events at previous GP's/etc being generally low, WOTC wanting successful tournies and so forth. Sad (also, they need to worry about how to allocate their resources, tables, judges, organizing, etc).

Worlds 2004 had 90+ people. I think people would come if a tourney were being held (other than standby vintage for boosters), but who am I to guarantee a turnout?

I can only suggest that anyone who goes to worlds that would be interested in playing in a vintage tournament say so to people from Wizards that are there.  For example, if 30 individuals say "we are disappointed in no Vintage Sad" then Wizards might realize that 2-4 times that number might feel the same way but didn't saying anything.

Vintage is a format. It is the oldest (and grandest) format. People can have a T2/Draft/Modern tourney anytime.  Large gatherings of magic players around the world have Vintage players amongst them.

That is all.
