Every month on the third Sunday (unless otherwise noted) Superstars will be hosting Vintage (10 proxy) tournaments. If a tournament is to be held on a date other than the third Sunday of the month, an announcement will be made at the bottom of this thread; check back here regularly. Be sure to check out our monthly calendar HERE for details on other events being held at Superstars! Also, if for whatever reason I'm unable to post an event that you may think is happening, be sure to refer to the event calendar. VINTAGEWhat: Vintage (10 proxy) Where: Superstars Game Center 30 North 3rd Street San Jose, CA 95112 When: Third Sunday of the Month, 12 PM Prizes: Sweet Vintage cards; check description for details. Additional prizes based on attendance. Entry Fee: $25 cash/credit The Fine Print: 10 proxy limit for this event. Any deck containing proxies must be sleeved with opaque plastic sleeves. Proxies must easily be recognizable as the card they represent from the face, and must be made such that they are not easily recognizable from the back or when shuffling the deck. Contact the store if you have further questions about the proxy policy. Tournament will launch unless fewer than eight players are entered. Players are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to start time of events in order to register and help the event start on time. LEGACYWhat: Legacy Thursday at Superstars (10 Proxy) Where: Superstars Game Center 30 North 3rd Street San Jose, CA 95112 When: Thursday Nights, 7 PM Prizes: 4-0: 12 packs 3-0-1: 9 packs 3-1: 6 packs 2-1-1: 3 packs Entry Fee: $6 cash/credit The Fine Print: Superstars is now running Legacy events on Thursday nights starting at 7 PM. Legacy can be an intimidating format to start playing so Superstars is following Legacy tournaments with 10 proxies allowed. Also, to help promote the Legacy format at Superstars, entry for these events will be only $6 all month long. No deck registration is required for this event and players are encouraged to arrive no later than 6:50 so that this event starts on time. Players are required to identify the proxies in their deck with a written list to be given to the head judge prior to the beginning of this event. Storefront Hours: Monday to Thursday: 5pm – 8pm* Friday: 3pm – 10pm Saturday & Sunday: 11am – 7pm Our phone number is (408) 777-8277 and we can be reached via e-mail at info@superstarsgamecenter.com*If we start a tournament on any night of the week, we are open until the tournament ends, normally at 10pm.

Could you update the calendar? I deleted my thread with had the calendar link.
I'll be there on Sunday. Austin won't. So I will likely have an extra deck laying around if someone else want's in.

Argh. Why must people insist on getting married on the same day as a Mox tourney and inviting me or my gf to the wedding, its really selfish of them. Gotta skip July @ superstars. Hoping to make Eudominia on the 25th.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Anyone driving down from San Francisco? I am in need of a ride, and or companions to split the cost of city car share. I haven't been able to battle vintage since I switched coasts but this weekend is the first time I am free.
PM me.

15 people showed. me, ryan devine, josh utter leyton, and charles gordon split the top 4 (there was no top 8). $93 each in store credit. i played blue/black/white tezz w/o tezz, ryan was playing some form of tezz but i'm not sure about the specifics, and charles and josh were playing TPS. there was actually a lot of TPS at the tournament, matt nass and some guy whose name I don't know were playing it as well. i played against charles/matt/josh and beat matt and josh with ethersworn canonist (added last minute due to how many TPS decks i saw before the tournament). there were 0 stax decks which was good because my deck was very vulnerable to it without trygon predators and my lack of relevant sideboard cards. my only loss for the day was against charles gordon. charles beat me in game 3 of our match after my turn 1 ancestral into 0 force of wills. his turn 1 consisted of playing a mox, lotus petal, land, dark ritual, necro, time walk. he later told me that if i had a force of will there he would have been cold. i had some strange cards in my deck.. i misdirected ancestral recall two times during the tournament! i had an ethersworn canonist out against TPS and they cast mystical tutor during their main phase to put ancestral on top. during my turn i demonic tutor for misdirection. they draw ancestral and cast it. i misdirect it and they can't do anything about it thanks to canonist. win! no LSV/ochoa/fob/lotushead hopefully we get more people next month!

OCTOBER 17 should be next Superstars thingie, and I will be there ready to get my ass handed to me.
Unless my deck loves me. It's been 3 months since I played against real Vintage players.

So Sunday Nov 21 should be on, yes? It's 3rd Sunday of the month, and I have a multitude of lists flowing through my head. I will be a winner just for showing up with my lists. See you all in 1 week if all goes well!

And I will lose, but I will play hi... it. Them.

Muahahaha, despite my refined Control Slaver deck being absolutely terrible in this metagame, I was not stopped.

I did my part, but his round 2, 3, 4, and 5 opponents didn't. Waiting for Lotushead to make a thread with pictures. Guess we can all start a thread, but he is the one with the pictures/standing/decklists; his glory :-p It was nice playing vintage (or magic in general) after a hiatus.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.
