So does Al Punto
Don't you worry good sir, Al does not plan on Punto-ing this tourney tomorrow!

(Hee hee, just noticed separate entries for me and my alter-ego in the PotY standings, I guess "technically" I should have 86 pts then, for what it's worth as Elias still has a ginormous lead.)

We had 63 players show up today.  The three most popular choices were various forms of Jace Control, Aggro MUD and Dredge.

I assume so. The last ones weren't done b/c Nick had surgery on his arm.

Nick, if you need help with this, let me know; I'd also like to do an article on the metagame from this event, if you can bring the decklists to NJ next Saturdasy.

Was hoping to finish better than 3-3 after starting 3-0, but oh well sometimes Magic happens... like mulling to four without seeing a colored mana source or fetch in any of those hands against Mr. Reitnauer Game 3 Round 5, and it was all downhill from there.

This was my first Vintage tourney since Gush was unrestricted and IMO the format is now very wide open and enjoyable. Since I got in my customary amount of testing before the event (none) I ran my usual Noble Fish with some tweaks (+ 3 Gaddock Teeg, + 3 Negate, - Mystical - Rebuild - Goyf - 3 Pierce). Reasoning for swapping Pierce for Negate was I wanted some form of hard counter available if Teeg was in play. Teeg was there to help against Gush and Jace.

But after seeing some of the decks that did well I'm thinking of switching up for the next big event I can make, probably Grudge Match II. I really like what Mr. Type 4 was running, though I did beat it round 1 (and lost to it round 6 when piloted by Mr. Morford). I also like the hot mess Mr. Hangley was running, and abusing Gush and Cobra seems fun, even though for some reason they only run 1 Fastbond, why would they DO that?  Razz

Clearly Fastbond should be unrestricted.  I believe Mr. Hornung has already started his first draft of complaint to the DCI.

I really enjoyed coming out for this tournament.  Was an awesome time catching up with people.  Looking forward to the next one big time!

If anyone is going to be in and around Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving, you should come down to Mr. Nice Guy's for some more Vintage action.  I've got some space if anyone is interested and needs a place to crash.
