In the event we actually get a ton of snow, what's going to happen?
When I checked last night there was a 40% chance of snow. This has now been pushed to 60%. I have not read or heard anything about expected accumulation, which I believe to be a good thing - as heavy accumulation of snow would be news. It is still very possible that there is no accumulation at all. People have committed to this in terms of days off, hotel reservations, travel plans, etc. I will not cancel or delay the event unless the safety of the players becomes an issue due to the weather. As things stand right now I do not expect this to be an issue. Given the commitments that people have made I will make it clear by Thursday what the plan is. I firmly believe that I will be holding the event, and I would advise players who are concerned about the snow to leave for the event early, and to consider staying until Sunday, when the weather is expected to be 35 and mostly sunny with only a 10% chance of precipitation. This is New York, we have snowfall like this every winter. Brothers Grim is 10 minutes from the Long Island Expressway, and you take a major road to get there. Major highways are the first routes that are plowed, and the Expressway is almost always in excellent shape. I drove home on the Expressway last year during a blizzard and encountered no problems on the highway. The Crowne Plaza is less than 10 minutes from the event site. Safety is the first priority, and while I want as many players as possible to show up to the event, I want everyone to be safe first. I will post updates about the weather. If there is snow, and you feel uncomfortable driving in it, then I would caution you to stay home. I don't think that the driving is going to be anything close to treacherous, and I know that a good time is going to be had by those who do go. |

I just booked a room at the Crowne Plaza.
It's a 2 double bed room. I'm fat so I'd prefer to have one bed to myself.
If one or two people need a place to stay the other bed will be available. We'll chop the room cost as evenly as possible. Let me know.
Change of plans. I'm leaving Saturday night and going to the Eagles game Sunday. Sorry!

Nick Coss is the master dealer at the event. I'm sure he has some pretty awesome STP's. He dealt me some foil ones a few weeks back. I was thinking of getting the Revised StPs i have altered, because they are already beat from back in the days before sleeves. Not to mention, when i do run StP, i always use my Ice Age ones, i like the art so much more.
The question is, does anyone have any cool ideas on what to have them done as though?

In reading the original announcement, I never mentioned that I was unable to confirm either the Unlimited Jet or Unlimited Time Walk. As such, I'm going to either bump the Twister up with credit, or work on picking up another piece of power while at the event in order to make 2nd (at 70+ entrants) better. I have a line on an Unlimited Mox Ruby. If I can pick it up within the boundaries of what I have allotted for second, I will, and I'll use that in lieu of the Twister.
