Thanks for the encouragement! It makes it a lot easier to write this stuff knowing a few people actually like it.
The only thing I was left wanting was the same analysis for a 5-color greedy manabase like "The Deck" with wastelands, as that is my current pet deck. The article did leave me thinking more about my land choices in it so great job.
This article actually started because of a running discussion I'd been having with a friend about a 5-color control deck, complete with Cities of Brass. Unfortunately I got carried away with all of the introductory and setup material that I never got a chance to actually talk about his deck. It might be something I want to revisit someday
I really liked your article in general, but I just have one question. Why do you have brass squire at the top of all of your MB lists? If you cold at least explain the vintage reasoning, that would be great.
Oops! look like I need to be more careful with my gags. From the SCG Boards:
"Haha just to clear it up, yes, Brass Squire is a joke. But it's worth noting he fills a very important function- there really aren't 10 exciting Vintage cards in the set.
I'm really only looking at the first 3-6 vintage cards, 3-5 Legacy cards, and 7ish Cube cards... The other stuff is all interesting, but I have a feeling won't make big splashes - I'm happy waiting for someone else to figure out if they're good"
