I guess this means I should put Pernicious Deed and Perish in my sideboard.  (Or Vinelasher Kudzu)

I think its just indicative of Dredge being a strong choice right now.  That was the only Dredge deck in the field!  0 Dread Return decks have won stuff before, but I think they're really sub optimal, personally.

I had a great time despite the sweltering heat and the fact that no food places were open. In a mall. On a Saturday.

I won my first match with my revamped Cat Stax Fever, then lost the next four. Back to the drawing board for NYSE next week. Seeing as though there was only one Dredge player out of 19 one might have been OK with leaving dedicated Dredge hate out. Naturally I get paired against him round 3. Such is the dilemma with the current Vintage metagame.

Also, anybody who has not road-tripped with one John Jones is missing out. Just a sampling of things we were talking about:

"How can something so complex be so simple?"
(While driving through the mountains on I-80) "Wow, look at all those trees! Imagine if we chopped them all down!"
(While driving over a particularly rough stretch of the PA Turnpike) "You know, we should just forget about road maintenance altogether. Every car should just have really big tires."

And speaking of John Jones, game 3 of Top 8 against Matt was epic. It was probably the best game of Vintage I've seen in a while. Matt had lethal damage on the board and was ready to swing for the win on his next turn. However John went all-in to reassemble Vault/Key, Dismembering the Leonin Relic-Warder the Vault was tucked under. So he activates his Key targeting the Vault, when all of a sudden, BAM! Matt discards a Plains and Abolishes the Time Vault!

In my experience running without Dredge hate is just too dangerous.

Looks like Matt may have finally found a playable card in the Prophesy set.  I had to look it up, lol.

I understand where he's going with this deck - the Dredge engine is good enough to just win game one 85% of the time or better so he moved some sideboard stuff into the main presumably so he could run even more solutions to hate cards post-board.  It's not a bad plan.  I dont understand what Ancestral is doing in the SB, but beyond that it seems like a solid idea.
