Oh man, this was a doozy. This is a 31 page article. Nearly killed me. Matt Elias raised the bar from my prior work, and his methodology included far more tournaments than ever before into the Quarter Metagame Report. I've continued his methodology in general, while returning to my roots in certain respects with tons of data and even a few purty graphs.
There is one big difference though: I've really taken to narrative. In doing recent set reviews, I've tried not just to provide my trademark analysis, but to offer more sweeping insights in essay form, trying to generalize key developments and trends, and that's exactly what I do here. If you want detailed statistical analysis, to understand the current position of the metagame, and key Vintage trends, I am your one stop shop here. But if you also want to see Vintage in its broad sweep, that's what I've tried to do as well.
Because this is such a labor intensive work, it is a premium product, but as such, I know you'll find it worth it, especially if you like my style and writing.
Please let me know what you think.
