I beat ErtaiAdept 2-0.

G1: He mulls to five, and I play Chalice at zero and one.

G2: He keeps fetchland, Ruby, Remora, but no counter. I play Trinisphere, then Revoker on his Ruby, while also having Port and Wasteland.

Well, A-1 got it 2-0.  Shops vs Gush....I shouldn't need to say more but I will.

I lose the die roll....oh good on the draw vs shops.

G1 - I mull to 5 trying to get a decently interactive hand.  He opens with chalice at 0 and 1...I have land, mox, mox, remora in hand.  I proceed to cry.  I draw two dead cards for the next two turns and then just scoop since he has a threat on the board with factory.

G2 - I open with land mox remora with trygon in hand.  He leads with 3 sphere.  I made a mistake there paying for remora on the next turn which caused me to not be able to play the trygon, and my mox got revokered on his next turn.  I proceed to not see any more mana sources and quickly lose to revoker beats.

Well, it was a good run, and I'll see you all next time.

EDIT: I'm a buffoon  Sad turns out I don't like checking time zones before scheduling matches.
We'll play over the weekend, sorry for the confusion.

So this is a bit sad, but I just beat Eastman in 3 due to the multiple times Cockatrice booted him from the Server. I am a bit confused on this as it just showed him leaving the game and not being "disconnected." The first time it happened I let it slide and restarted the game because I had only drawn my opening 7. The second time was late game 3 with him at 2 life with a full grip and me with like 11 mana out, and a hand of force, recall, daze and land. I think a threat forcing him to force off the top would have won it for me in the next 2 turns (or maybe just another force followed by said threat) but it was looking to be a close shave for either of us if it went the distance. Again, Eastman, I apologize for the way it went down and I hope we have the fortune to play each other again sometime in the future. On to my round with Guli! Videos of this match and match breakdown to follow soon. For now it is a 2-1 Victory for Noble Fish and I'm on to face Guli where I will likely get slaughtered Sad.

I recommend in the strongest terms that everyone register with Cockatrice since this allows you to resume games interrupted by network problems.

I did not know this and will do so before participating in another.  Super disappointing end.

I had been stuck on a hand full of black gas all game and had JUST drawn a fetch and was figuring out how to proceed. My earlier brainstorm and preordain didn't show me any black sources.  Storm if you only had FoW and Daze you were gonna need to rip another counter off the ancestral because I had will already, along with 3 rits and a demonic tutor.  Now, if you had forced the first rit you could waste and prolong the game, which is why I was actually thinking of waiting until you cast a threat so I could chain of vapor it and potentially bait a counter on your EOT.  Since the disconnect dropped me a second time I thought I should concede the match rather than potentially continuing to deal with it for the rest of the event. GGs.

Ok, I played Storm since we were both online anyway and we knew we had to face each other.

I took the match 2-0, he recorded the games, I hope to see the vids soon. I took 1 screenshot in game 2 when my vial hit 2. I thought for a while in that situation and eventually went for swing for 3 and then vial in Relic to snap Lotus. I followed with Thalia on stack to lure out FoW. I figured if he FoW I pass the turn and I can still use Pridemage's ability if needed and my Swords can safely be cast the next turn because Daze doesn't work with all that mana on my side. (assuming he has not second FoW) And this way I would know if there is FoW or not. If he doesn't FoW Thalia, then I just cast BoB and pass. I can't sac pridemage in this line but he can't cast jitte and equip either because of Thalia. This actually happened, he could not cast use Jitte (he revealed one later on in the game) and I started netting cards with BoB and swarmed him with bears and CA.

I beat Credmond in 2. (Sorry for sloppy notes ahead, I'm pretty tired and my focus is kind of shot)

G1 - I'm pretty sure he tries to stick a Thalia which I have the Force for (luckily). I hit Yawg Bargain after that and broken card is broken.
G2 - This one gets pretty heated, as he lands a Grafdigger's Cage turn 1 (I have Force and Ancestral as my blue cards, I just can't do it), then solidifies with a Thalia and a Kataki. The turn he lands Thaalia I drop 2 Moxes and a Sol Ring, then after he plays Kataki I just pay for them with themselves. I take beats for a turn or two, then EOT Chain of Vapor his Thalia and (surprise!!) play Yawgmoth's Bargain. I go to 3 life, Gifts for mana and Demonic into Tendrils for game.
Credmond's deck was awesome, it's just stupid when you draw Bargain twice in a row and your opponent doesn't play Force, so sorry about that Credmond. Massive props for playing Bazaar and Squee in this shell.

I beat brokenbacon 2-0.

G1: Jack wins the roll, I keep seven, he mulls to six, and plays Preordain and Walk. He has a counter or two but doesn't draw any gas after that. My one Lodestone goes the distance.

I get disconnected from Cockatrice before our second game begins. I can't rejoin for several minutes which is frustrating. My internet connection was working, and I'm a registered user on Cockatrice so I have no clue what was up the server problems.

G2: He keeps seven; I keep five. Turn one he plays land, Jet, Mana Vault. I play Shop and Wire. EOT he Rebuilds then plays Ritual -> Necro on his turn. He draws 13 discarding a bunch of irrelevant stuff and a BSC. I play Wire and Sphere. He plays some mana, Mystical for FoW, and Necro draws it. I play a Lodestone, he counters, and Hurkyl's me. I can only play a Chalice for zero. He Tinkers on his turn and is forced to get Jar. He decides to pop it immediately but cannot do anything. He Necros two cards down to one life. I play Sphere and Razormane for the game.

Guli and I will be playing Thursday at 5 pm EST / 11 pm his time.

Honestly this was one of the more embarrassing games of Magic I've ever played. Most of the time I only make this error in goldfishing. With Jar I drew into Twister, Academy, double Mox but he had the Chalice and I was screwed. My Necro consisted of How Many Drills, Ritual, and Yawg Bargain. His Razormane would've killed me, so that was nice.
Very good games Rob, and thanks very much Nick for orchestrating this tournament.
Props - really nice players on Cockatrice, Yawgmoth's Bargain
Slops - TPS vs. Shops, my complete and total idiocy, EST vs. PST
Best of luck to players in the finals!!!!

Guli wins 2-1.

G1: He mulled to 5.
G2: I mulled to 5.
G3: I don't remember.

Nothing really exciting going on. Our lists are a month old and outdated.

We ended up playing like 15 or so games afterward. Halfway through I switched up and played brokenbacon's TPS list.

And we're through!

Congrats to Guli and A-1.  The top four have earned spots in the Ringer event, which will have the pairings performed in time for Monday.

Players are not allowed to change their decklists between rounds, however, players who qualify for the Ringer vs. Community event are more than welcome to play a different list.
I am changing my deck choice for sure.

Ah yes, I remember now. I couldn't find a Chalice before you played Vial nor could I get a Revoker to play afterward. I went turn one Sphere, you played land + mox, I played Lodestone, you played Vial and rode it to victory.

This match really felt like it was me versus the world. My older Shop list versus Guli Fish teched out to be Shops. As you can see from the screenshot, it felt like Germany and Italy were teaming up on the United States (What is this, the European front circa 1940?). Where are all my Russian and British supporters? lol  I know Shops is usually seen as the big bad evil in Vintage, but I felt more like David than Goliath in this match. Guli Fish is a legit build to fight Shops (but not TPS Wink).
