I haven't listened to it yet, but with almost 3 hours of vintage it can't be anything but awesome!

Thanks for the kind words about the Team Serious Open. Too bad this wasn't posted before the event, but hopefully we'll be able to get in for the next one too.

Edit: Also, "One one."

This is a very enjoyable listen thank you all for taking the time to make it.

I won with a dread less dredge deck about a year ago with a similar list, some different metagame choices.  There was some question about why leylines was included and from my build I know it was nearly impossible to win a game much less match against the dredge decks with return if you dont play leylines.  Also if you look at other match ups dredge generally only loses to 4 things in game 1, being cage, strip effects, yawg will, and vault/key all of which his deck has at least 4 answers for.

Leyline also acts as protection for bridge, since the opponent will never have a creature hit their yard.  It was relevant in both the bomberman match and the mud match, especially when the mud player animated his factory and wasted it trying to get rid of bridges, forgetting that the dredge player had leyline in play.  I will say that the mud player made quite a few mistakes in his matches, though in the two games he lost I don't think he would have won even if he played them perfectly as the dredge deck just had too many answers to his lines of play.

I like what Stephen did with strix, my first thought when seeing it was a slaver-esque build (ie: urb grindy control).  Glad to see I wasn't too far off.

The DDay deck is interesting, I've played both the 4c DDFT and the shelldock isle emrakul DDay decks in the past.  I'll be sure to give this one a try at some point.  I do think you misunderstood the question about extirpate though.  If they respond to unearth by extirpating the maniac then you lose.  There is no way to win there as far as I can see.  The only thing you can do is try to avoid going the unearth route unless you probe them and know their hand.  There are many points where you would just cast the maniac anyway in your combo turn so it is definitely avoidable.

The game three hand from the Espresso pilot is an auto-mull.  Also, while you guys did hit on it a bit at the end, don't underestimate the power of Tabernacle in that game.  A Tabernacle and a couple of blockers that can handle Ichorids pretty much means that he wins the game.  His board was Dredge light, and I'm not a big fan of it.  He also ran a 61 card main.  Still, that being said, you have to give props to a guy who navigated through over 300 players to reach the finals.  He definitely understands the fundamentals.

Also, great work gents.  Please keep it going.  I was glad to hear that you're not going to be giving up on this, though you both are moving.

There were some oversights in this podcast, but overall I enjoyed it a great deal. One of the best ones I think.

Yeah, that was pretty freaking funny.  I was rolling for a one when I heard that.

Although it's not what we aim for, we've gotten alot of feedback that this 'cast was pretty funny.

Wow, great podcast!  Paper and pencil were most definitely needed for this one.  I listened to this for the first time while commuting to and from work, and I had to sit down with it a second time at home.  I'm going to be at GenCon for the Vintage tournament and am now considering playing Doomsday in the Legacy tournament.  I'll be purchasing the article on my next day off so that I can study some more.  This deck seems very challenging, but enjoyable.

Thanks for the hard work that you guy put into providing an enjoyable podcast!

Over an hour of scenarios! Thanks guys, a great episode.

In several of the Legacy scenarios, the problem was that you needed multiple pieces of protection (to play around Swords or burn) but could not easily assemble the mana to play them. Have you tested running two Pacts (cutting a FoW, perhaps), trading a small amount of early-game protection for easier Doomsday piles?

You mention several times in the podcast that "nobody ever counters Doomsday." Is that a mistake? What's the best way to fight the deck?

So it's been awhile since your Legacy Doomsday primer, but I'm not seeing much Doomsday in Legacy.  The deck didn't look like it had any obvious predators in the decks to beat (the aggro-control decks don't kill by turn 3 and the Sneak/Show decks lose to heavy countermagic) so what's going on here?  I thought the deck had potential but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.
