Today Wotc announced some RtR cards - Street Spasm,Dreg Mangler,Korozda Guildmage,Izzet Charm,Goblin Electromancer.Especially this Izzet goblin is great. He's a kinda bear so can be a clock and blocker and its ability is good enough to be seen in vintage:he promises next turn's 4mana spells like gifts ungiven.has good synergy with freespells.and yeah no need to mention storm decks.

Pictures, or at least the card text usually helps.

I think the fundamental issue with this card is that He's a creature that obsoletes an enchantment (In this case, Arcane Melee) and is two colors.  I think he's fine in some quirky UR Storm lsit, but I'll go out on a limb and say that it's unlikely to replace anything in most Storm decks, due to his creature-ness.

Well, I think this card is significantly better than Arcane Melee. For one thing it's not symmetrical. Also, not costing 5 is nice. I don't know that this card will be Vintage playable, but I think it fills a nice niche. I could see this being good against something like shops. Gets around Thorn of Amethyst and negates a sphere effect while beating down for 2. That said, I still can't say it's the ideal card in that matchup or even where a card like this might find a home.

I dont think is really comparable to arcane melee.  Arcane melee is 5 mana rendering it completely unplayable in vintage.

This guy is a 2 mana creature making him not tremendously hard to stick against shops, where he essentially negates the effect of one of their spheres.  He can also accelerate you in other match ups and does have a body.

I dont think hes necessarily a storm only card.

He seems like he would go very well with AK/Intuition engine as he makes AK's cost U and Intuition cost 1U, reducing the cost of that engine from 5 to 3 mana.  He also makes dismember completely free, which i think is pretty note worthy.

I think for an already established deck that he could see play in I would refer to the world championship list because of the synergy he will have with snapcaster and bob.

I could definitely see at least some fringe play out of him given he is a bear with a decent ability.

I'm intrigued. CC isn't too prohibitive of a cost, and he synergizes especially nicely with the recent red storm enablers like Desperate Ravings and Past in Flames.

I mean, sure we have the Medallions from Tempest but they dont attack for two Wink

I used to have Sex.dec proxied up (Eternal Witness/Time Walk deck, with Intuition/AK engine), and I splashed Sunscape Familiar (to make U and G spells cheaper by 1)

This guy seems tons better than that guy, and beating for 2 is very relevant. Any (blue) spell that costs more than 1 is now super awesome.

What 1R spells benefit? what 1U, 2U etc spells benefit?  Goind from 2cc to 1cc is huge, and 3cc to 2cc is also huge. if this dude hits play turn 2, then turn 3 land drop, 4cc spell for 3 is huge.

I've been burned in the past on my predictions, and I love playing shops, but this guy could be somebody in the metagame.

Or I could be wrong. Smile

Is this really better then Nightscape Familiar? Yes, its blue but also costs two colored mana. Yes it has power two but Familiar has at least a somewhat relevant abbility. And while this helps to power out cheap Wills and Demonic Tutors, Familiar would help with Jace and Snapcaster for example. I think, both are at least compareable and Familiar has never seen any serious play. So I doubt, this will.

Two attack makes all the difference.

I agree emphatically, that he is not storm only card. I think He's pretty much a waste as a storm card.

I think he's best suited in a mid-range, not quite big-mana control deck, but not quite fish. Just stacking Snap, Bob, and him with all the best 2-3 mana spells is a good start.
