There could be some combo with this? How can this card be better than a Griselbrand. There could be very fringe plays like playing flash into it, but I can think of much better ways to use 8 mana or cheat a creature into play. Not playable until someone finds some breaking combo.

I won't say never, but I can't currently envision a use for this card that doesn't have a superior existing option. The only way to abuse this would seem to be flash, so you would need to have flash unrestricted and then somehow you would have to make this better than just winning the game. No thanks, into the junk rare 2 for 1 box you go!

The other interaction could be Sneak Attack in Legacy, but it destroys the enchantment too, so it could be very situational. Emrakul is probably better every time.

It'd be hilarious to drop him into play vs emerakul off your opponents show and tell. M.A.D.

I don't know... you'll still lose 5 other permanents and take 15 damage from Emrakul =/

Perhaps in Dredge, where you could reanimate him with Dread Return, play Cabal Therapie, and still get some Tokens, when Bloodghast and friends die. But I guess not.

This is just Child of Alara with a different casting cost.  Given the difficulty of generating one of each color, maybe the costs are essentially the same.  Any way, Child never saw play.  I draw a certain conclusion from that.

P.S. I am totally confused by these posts:

When Atlas here dies, everyone loses everything, right?  You still take 15, but then everything blows up.

What's indestructible?  Neither Emrakul nor this card are.

Man, insanely sweet art and flavor on this dude. Really happy they're rolling out the hits in this last set.

This only destroy stuff at the end of the turn it dies. So Emrakul attacks, you either sacrifice 6 other permanents and block, or sacrifice this and 5 other permanents and take the 15 damage. Emrakul will only die at the end of the turn.

Even if it was Child of Alara, this is bad against Emrakul since it gets to attack...

That's what I said.  You take 15, then Emrakul dies with everything else later.

Also, Atlas can't block the flying speghetti monster.

What's sort of interesting is that with Sneak Attack, it destroys the world during your opponent's end step. Ie. The next person who gets a shot at board development is you.

This seems like garbage, though. Sort of cute in EDH and that's it. When could this ever be better than one-sided wipe or Yawgmoth's Bargain on a 7/7 lifelinker?

Forgot about the flying. But I don't understand what you didn't get of what I said in the first place hehe. Of course everything blows up, but by then, Emrakul already did his main damage. Yeah, you won't lose the game (damage-wise) to a second Emrakul attack. But with 15 life and 5 permanents gone, I wouldn't say this "answers Emrakul". Wink

Doesn't Ashen Rider "answer Emrakul" better in any case? It's not like you'd ever hardcast this. I assume this is just something to have in hand in case your opponent casts Show and Tell.

There are tons of answers for a Show and Tell'ed Emrakul. Bearer of the Heavens definitely isn't one of them. Wink

He should also have, Creatures with fly can't attack you, because there's a world in the way.
