The insanity! This card will definitely be spawning some new brews in vintage. Added Pic. -MM

Channel, this is not.
Okay, so if you manage to resolve this creature with full life, you can get six red mana out of him. He ramps you from 4 mana to 6 mana in the same turn, and for 4 to 10 the following turn. That's nothing to sneeze at, but its very conditional. I foresee this card being a consideration for Charbelcher brews, but not much else immediately.
The only abusive combo I can think of with Ogre would be something like that landfall mirror from Zendikar that resets your life total each time you hit landfall. But, that costs 6.
I guess it lets you eternally keep up mana for Red Elemental Blast...?

I'm planning to buy a playset of this card for Belcher and never bother testing it. For two life a mana, maybe. For now, this doesn't excite me.

When I saw this earlier, my first thought was: Nat Moes is the Treasonous Ogre!
Also, the Kenobi memes are legendary!

This wouldn't see play in even my most experimental charbelcher brew. That deck is just fine on accelerants, and this is worse than pretty much any other ones available. It's a bigger choke point then seething song at that cost. Kenobi memes is right.

I think if this card had one more power it would be significantly better for Belcher, since it could kill Lodestone Golem. Of course, Belcher vs shops doesn't want to get to the point where you need to block golems so maybe the point is moot. But if you ever were in that situation you have Golem defense and a sick way to pay for sphere effects onboard.

I think he has more potential to be built around than fitting in to existing decks like belcher. Getting access to 3-6 mana from an onboard permanent on turn 3 or 4 is very powerful. The body and dethrone aren't great, but they're not irrelevant either. There are even crazy things to do similar to Tin-Fins with things like children of korlis. I think it's definitely an interesting ability that could end up being insane.

I suppose it's worth noting that his ability let's you ensure you are attacking the player with the highest life total.

His dethrone ability and the ability to pay life are synergistic. As far as playable, I'll defer to Old Ben.

I could see potentially reaching a situation where my life total was 22+ and needing exactly that amount of mana to win the game. Or maybe I could use a 2/3 that might get incrementally bigger, but I wouldn't say either case is very likely.
