Thanks. 6 Delver lists. That is really disturbing. Cruise is going to be banned, for sure.

Just wanted to wish all TMDers playing today an awesome time. Told myself I would be there this year and failed to make it after some tough personal times. Hoping to bounce back and join you all in Philly next year. Looking forward to seeing some of the regulars here in the Top 8: Stephen Menendian for his endless Vintage advocacy, Rich Shay for being a gentleman and a scholar, Sean Nedleeds for loving old shard names.... and if a Pro can Top 8 too and boost the profile of the format, that would be no bad thing. Have a great time guys. Go smash Delver.

Are standings available anywhere that's actually updated? WotC's site is stuck at round 4.

Just got back and ready to fall into a Magic and Steak-induced coma. Mad props to Nick Coss on a well run tournament and congratulations to all of the top 8. I finished 6-3 in 31st place with Human Bomber Storm - Notion Thieves were cast and even stole a few boats. Also lived the dream with Timetwister and Thief 2 or 3 times on the day.

Great Job Matt! I can't say I did so hot... 2-6-1 is just... Unacceptable lol, no more fair decks for me.

And Oath wins it's 1st Vintage Champs.
http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/eternalweekend14/vsl"Steve Menendian: "The immediate impact of Treasure Cruise is that it bolsters the Delver of Secrets archetypes. The secondary impact is that it makes the Oath of Druids decks better because those decks prey on the Delver decks. There's a little bit of a blue arms race that creates openings for other decks. Oath is definitely a deck that can take advantage of this. The Delver decks have become streamlined for Treasure Cruise and no longer get to play with powerful situational cards like Trygon Predator." That's a bit of a paraphrase, but shot called around round 3. Pretty amazing in 11 years almost every archetype has won this thing. Glad to see Oath get there. I played Delver (surprise, surprise) and would have run the exact same 75 if I had to do it again. The top 8 results bear out the strength of the archetype.

Wow.... what a fascinating Top 8! Am I the only surprised not to see a single "Big Blue" deck in sight? Not one copy of Tinker in there, only one deck packing Vault/Key, only two Jaces.... considering it's the first time in a long while we have unrestricted blue draw engines, I feel like that's quite a turn up for the books. Intriguing to see an aggro-control strategy better able to leverage that fact. Does that leave Dig Through Time essentially a dud?
Does anyone in attendance feel like two shops decks in the Top 8 is about right? Or was the deck significantly under-represented compared to a proxy metagame?
Really enjoyed watching the event from afar. Coverage was fun and there were some fantastic matches on camera that Im pretty sure can't have failed to get anyone watching excited about the format. If only they could, you know, afford to play..... oh well.....
Overall great stuff and congrats to everyone in the Top 8!

I have felt for a while that big blue decks were underpowered relative to a nice streamlined Delver, LandStill, or Oath deck, and that by this point they're just a bunch of good cards shoehorned together. The problem is that when so many good players play them, they still do well. I'm glad to see some of the pros picked up better decks this time.

Had a great time, because Nick Coss is a goddamned champion. 6-3 for the day on Oath, much better than last year's 1-3 drop debacle. Getting to sling a lot of expensive cardboard with other grown ups is always a good time. I hope to see you all again next year. I would love to see us top this year's already amazing turnout! Edit: The best part of the day? I didn't have to play against Drege even once.

I would wait for confirmation from Nick, but my understanding is that the coverage will wind up on the youtubes at some point.

I tweeted Card Titan over the weekend, and they confirmed that the videos would be uploaded to You Tube, and would be available on the Card Titan You Tube channel. No idea when they will be made available though.

What an incredible weekend.
I was there all three days (albeit late on Friday), and there's a lot to love. Last year, things felt a little disjointed being in several different rooms. It was excellent to have all the artists, dealers and players in the same room. A pet peeve of last year was the necessity of the constant bag checks because you had to move between rooms with some frequency. I loved the room.
The dealers on site had everything. With the prices on power, and other assorted Vintage staples recently, I had been concerned that there would potentially be a dearth of the necessities. That wasn't a concern at all. If you came to the event and you needed to pick up some last pieces for your deck, you were covered. This isn't like PTQ players needing $1 uncommons; it was heartening to see that everybody who came to Eternal Weekend (seemingly) came prepared.
I've been lucky in having Mark at Mark's Comics bring in elite Magic artists to the store once every three months, but it was still incredible to go to an event and have Chris Rush, Mark Poole, Richard Kane Ferguson, Jeff Menges AND other great artists there. Wild.
I heard about some hiccups with the kickoff for Legacy, but the Vintage event ran smoothly. I can speak from personal experience when I say that I know how difficult it can be to get an event to kick off and run well for the full length of the day. That Nick managed to do that with more than 300 guys in the room for Vintage Champs really says something. There is a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes that has to be done in order for an event to run well. Nick covered all his bases.
The biggest thing, for me, was that we didn't just crack the 300 man barrier, we cruised past it. I believe the final tally was 322. I may be off by a few players, but think about that for a minute. There were 320+ guys in a room playing SANCTIONED VINTAGE. We need to appreciate just how nuts this is. I was told later that only 33 of the 320+ guys were playing budget decks (unpowered, no Shops, Bazaars, etc.). I remember being at GenCon a few years back when we all cheered for there being 187 guys. I remember thinking that it was absurd that we had that many guys. This, clearly, blows that out of the water. I still can't believe that we had that many guys there yesterday, and I'm tremendously happy that we did.
Europe has been able to lay claim to Vintage's largest events. The U.S. has lagged behind for as long as I remember. Vintage Champs was bigger than every European Vintage event that I know of in the last year. On top of that, Vintage Champs was in shooting distance of 348, which (and I may be wrong here; if I am, please tell me) was the biggest Bazaar of Moxen (and biggest European Vintage tournament) that has ever been run.
The U.S. can be the place where the biggest events are run and the best players play. I want that title for us. I will keep doing my part to help grow the Vintage community. I hope to see us crush this year's attendance at next year's Eternal Weekend.
There are too many people to credit in all of this, but the spotlight will (and should) shine on Nick Coss. Nick, you did a phenomenal job. Thank you for all you do.

No idea when they will be made available though. Awesome thanks! And to echo Nicks comments, what a great boon for the US vintage scene. I couldn't be happier to be part of it. There has been some attempts in the past year to get some sanction vintage events going outside of the 1 yearly event, and I think this is the time to start thinking more seriously about that. To show Wizards that we are a valuable player base. I have been running non-sactioned events at Pandemonium now for over 2 years (which is actually really surprising for me to realize it's been that long) and I have happily watched the small community of 5 or so players grow to a rotating crew of almost 25 regular players. With the recently announced changes the FNM structure, my plan is to talk my LGS into running perhaps once a month a Vintage FNM event. In my mind have even a few of these fire a year will give wizards more data to look at for vintage, adding to the already helpful data coming from MTGO. One more time, thank you to Nick and everything he does for the vintage community and the entire Card-Titan team for everything for once again blowing our expectations out of the water.

http://www.twitch.tv/cardtitan/b/582268983?t=37m01sQuick question about the play: Joel plays Cursecatcher, Ryan plays Mental Misstep and responds with Mental Misstep to generate 2 pyro tokens, but it looks like he targets his own Misstep instead of sending both Missteps at the Cursecatcher. Am i missing something or does that play just not make sense?

Minkar, he played the Cursecatcher off Cavern so it couldn't be countered anyway. The missteps could have both targeted the Catcher or the way you stated it, because the end result would be the same. Will we see all the deck lists out there? I want to see the Wingmate Roc goodies since that seems like spicy tech against Young Pyrodude.
Wait, this is a real thing? Are we talking Legacy or Vintage? Yup, they kept mentioning it on stream that someone had Wingmate in their Humans list and was like 4-1 or 5-1 at the time, picking up his second loss way later. I can see why Wingmate can be good, it's a strong clock and is probably the best creature against Pyromancer at that size. I guess Orzhov Pontiff isn't a slacker, but Wingmate is a big dude that offsets a lot of what Pyro wants to do.

It would have been better to double Misstep the Cursecatcher.

Wow what a weekend. Actually decided to give legacy a try since I was going to be there and put together a fun brew. Played 4x Show and Tell and 4x Eureka and started pretty strong but lost to both Hive Mind and Sneak and Show! Apparently the brew was weak to the SnT mirror. I got to live the dream of turn 1 Eureka into Griselbrand AND Emrakul though. That was, however, just a side event. I have been waiting for vintage worlds for months and months. I started buying into power a while back with the intention to be finished by worlds. I am quite pleased to be done, and was quite happy with my deck. Maindeck Moats were reall! However, I misplayed a lot and cost myself a number of games This was a fantastic event. I loved every minute of it. I met so many cool people, made a bunch of new friends and met many existing ones. I cannot wait for next year.

Considering 5 of my 11 matches were delver mirrors, playing a budget deck that stomps delver seems good.
