I'm still trying to find a way to turn this card into a two-card win combo.  I feel like it should be possible to untap with this card, have *something* in your hand, and win from there.  I was hoping someone here could help me noodle through this.

Here's what I've come up with so far:

1. Get Disciple tapped, have Fatesticher in your hand, then start your turn.
2. Untap Disciple, pitch Stitcher to get another Stitcher.
3. Unearth the first Stitcher.
4. Go to attacks.
5. After Disciple is tapped, activate Stitcher to get another untap.
6. Pitch second Sticher to get....?

The idea here is you can end up with any 4 casting cost card in your hand and a way to untap it for U in your yard.  That seems powerful, but after digging through the 4 casting cost cards, I can't see a way to keep going.  Now, with Illusionist's Bracers this combo goes infinite easily, but that's three cards.

Anyone else worked on this?  I really think there's gotta be a line that takes you to victory as long as you untap with Disciple once.

Some other possibilities include Time Walk abuse; you can pitch 2 casting cost cards to keep getting Regrowth or Time Walk, which on an open board turns Disciple into 10 damage, 5 extra cards, and 5 land drops, assuming you manage to get a 2 casting cost spell in your hand on each draw.  You're likely not to do that often.

This compares very unfavorably to Doomsday since it gives something like a 2-turn delay from casting until winning.

4cc cards...Leyline, Helm of Obedience.

Run a deck with 4 LoS, 4 LotV, 4 helm, tinker, 4 disciple, tutors, abrupt decay, hurkyls (disciple can pitch other disciples to get removal), 4 RiP (disciple pitches other disciples and removal to get RiP).  Then you can have a fairly reliable way to assemble helmline combo, and a decent chance of starting with 1/2 in play.  Of course, this still costs 5 mana at least and there are probably easier ways to assemple the combo....but if you MUST use disciple, then sure, it works.

I keep thinking Hidden Strings would work with this guy.

Also I think nights whisper might help.  That gives you a lot of 2-cc stuff that can go get time vault (which is good to untap) and howling mine (which is good to tap).  And time walk.  And you can throw in a snapcaster mage.  I think you also want welder to get back destroyed/counter time vaults, and to provide another good untap target.

I dunno, tho.  All that doesn't make a good deck.  :/

Well, let's see.  So if you start with Disciple tapped on board and a 2cc in hand...

Pitch 2cc to get Hidden Strings.
Cast Hidden Strings untapping something and tapping down attackers, cipher on Disciple.
Declare attacks with Disciple, connect, untap same.
Pitch 2cc to get Time Vault

Then you can potentially win next turn IF the enemy has no blockers.  This seems bad.

That's because disciple is pretty bad (This coming from the guy defending some of the new blue cards).

The issue isn't untapping this guy, it's tapping him in the first place. It's hard to imagine a situation in which he's better than Doomsday or even Imperial Seal.
