It would be greatly appreciated if those reading this post were willing to spread the word of the event, and help us hit the goal of 150 players.  I do not run these events as a for-profit venture, as I hope the prize support reflects.  I need the support of the community in order to keep running them.

I've initiated the Team Serious Team Destruction Hype Syndicate over here in C-Town.

Hopefully no one shoots you Twaun!

I'm going to spread the word locally to see if I can get any warriors to come out to play.

Waiting on getting a proper car together before pre-registering, but hope to be there. Last year was very well done.

It would be good to see you there, Matt.

In other news, I was just sent the final version of the playmat image for this year's event:

This is, hands down, my favorite of the three N.Y.S.E. mats that Greg has done.  The D.T. looks absolutely unreal.  Plus, Lodestone looks like he's tearing down an Oath tree, which is a narrative dear to my heart...

Greg does incredible work.  These mats were sold out in less than 30 minutes last year.  If you're interested in a mat, I highly recommend speaking with Greg before the event.

Wow! Can we pre-order that bad boy? Hahaha. I definitely need to upgrade to this!

If you'd like to see this up anywhere else on Facebook, please let me know. I'd love to reach more potential players

Since this was announced I was laboring under the delusion that my Wife's cousins wedding was the week before this, but alas...I see the save the date on the fridge last night and realized I will be missing this one.  I will likely be at the Sunday event..needless to say I'm super disappointed.

Is the Vintage event for a Workshop on the 22nd (Monday), or the 28th? The original post says 6/22...

I'm pretty excited.  My flight is booked.  I'm going to see Larry David's new Broadway play Friday night, and then planning to go to the 9/11 museum Sunday.  This should be an awesome trip.

Sorry, this is a typo on my part. The Workshop tournament is the day after the main event, not the week prior. I'll correct this today.

I look forward to seeing you there, Steve.

Quote from: Prospero

More giveaways for N.Y.S.E. Open III.  Definitely a cool piece of Magic history.

Would be nice to have those, or at least browse through. When I was a kid, I got a visual collectible card game checklist (book) similar to the first volume in the photo, but for MtG it just had A/B/U, Arabian Night's, Antiquities, and Legends because that's all there was at the time.
When did they stop publishing these ones?  Probably when they could no longer keep up with the number of cards/expansion sets released.  Pretty cool indeed though.

Can't wait for the event. Thanks so much, Nick, for making this happen for the vintage community. You da man!

I tried to pre-reg from the link in the first post, states: "The event is over, you have not been charged."  I'm hoping I haven't missed the boat.  Can anyone confirm/deny that there are still spots to register?

There are definitely still spots open. I'll be meeting with Nick in a few hours, I'll check then and see if we can't fix this.

Pre-reg list has been updated.

Please remember, the pre-reg for this event is $25 less than the entry fee will be once pre-registration closes on 6/7.  If you're coming to the event, please pre-register.

Congratulations to Mike Egan on winning the NYSE Open qualifier at Comic Book Depot this past Friday!

There is roughly one month left to pre-register for this event!  Please pre-register if you intend on making the tournament!

The pre-registration and qualifier victor lists have been updated!  We have a little less than a month left for pre-registration.  Please pre-register if you intend on coming!  I don't want to see anyone pay the extra $25 if they don't absolutely have to.

The choice has been made.

I'm glad I'm going to see you there, Twaun!

Twaun, that reference is so subtle that you and I probably the only ones who know what it's from. Well, and maybe Ashok. Well done.

Also, I am in for this. Will pre-reg soon but flight and hotel are booked, and a couple of Chicagoans are coming with.

I'm assuming the date of the Sunday Workshop event at The Comic Book Depot is wrong?  It should be 6/28, not 6/22, I think.  Can't make the main event, but I can make a Sunday event, so it would be nice to know!

Sorry, that's my mistake. I thought I had corrected that a while back, but apparently not. I have since corrected it to reflect the proper date, 6/28, for the tournament.

There is a good chance that Dan Frazier and Richard Kane Ferguson drop by on Sunday. Jeff Menges will already be there, in case this interests you.

I hope to see you there!

Tried to preregister, got "There was a problem with the information you provided. Please check your email and membership number again."

My DCI number, email, and credit card information is all correct. Entering my DCI number triggers a "DCI number valid" tool tip.

Help?

EDIT: All set now. Thanks Nick!

I am exceptionally happy to announce that one final artist has been added to the ticket, as the great Melissa Benson will be attending the N.Y.S.E. Open.  Between Richard Kane Ferguson, Dan Frazier, and Melissa Benson, we have an incredible lineup of some of the greatest artists in the history of the game.

I highly recommend having all three artists work in a copy of The Gathering book for you, if you haven't already!
