For our last piece of the #GiftsWeek puzzle, I send you on a voyage down broken lane, looking at Cobra Gush Gifts, and Oath of Gifts, infusing some powerful archetypes with Gifts to make them even more robust.

As I mentioned elsewhere, these are not meant to be exhaustive primers, but rather quick introductions to a deck idea, in "Daily Deck" fashion. These were some interesting and fun decks to build, navigate testing with, and begin tuning. As always, your thoughts, criticisms, and most importantly discussions of the deck(s) are most appreciated below and on EC.

Hi Jaco - nice to see someone else try Lotus Cobra, we came up with pretty similar lists. I'm not 100% sure how well Gush and Gifts fit together, or rather if Cobra is enough to bridge the deck's competing demands on mana, but I'll give it a whirl at FNM next week and see.

The one thing I was thinking about this build, after having read Stephen's piece, was that it might actually be adaptable to play Cages in the SB instead of Leylines, which would make it sweet in the mirror. For example you could side out tinker/tendrils kill and side in cages plus Monastery Mentor or vault/key and gush/gifts for value whilst shutting off your gifts opponent's combo kill. Also obviously then good against Oath which I'm sure Cobra doesn't normally enjoy.

Great idea using the cobra to fuels gifts, I've tested a similar list and it's a very fun and powerful deck. Gifts is very versatile, since it set's up not only ywill kill but helps you find fastbond and can be used to fuel your gushbond turn in a way that avoids reliance on Ywill which is usually a problem with gush storm. So it gives you that little boost of consistency and let's you up the threat density all the while making the deck a lot more resilient to sphere effects due to Cobras. I like how much better the deck feels with this configuration.

Good to hear you're enjoying it. I just got done playing this some more today and it is an absolute blast. Perhaps I just love saying "Lotusssssssss Cobraaaaaaa" every time I cast it. But it does lead to some incredibly busted turns. I haven't figured out the best list of this yet, but I think I will soon. Need to test against some more decks to get the disruption package honed in (this is one Gifts deck that Mana Drain may actually belong in), but let me know what else you guys are finding when playing it. This and the Rector variant seemed to abuse Gifts more than any other version I've played so far.

This makes sense since rector omni and Gush storm were among the few decks that played gifts when it was restricted.
I love omni rector in general although I usually build it with 2 Griselbrand and tendrils instead of tinker bsc and emrakul and call it Rectal Agony. I don't know if that build is good with 4 gifts, seems like putting emrakul in your gifts piles is a lot better with omniscience since you can't cast the spells for free with Ywill and Omniscience in play. Haven't had the opportunity to play the deck in a while though, but gifts is crazy in that deck at any stage of the game.

As far the Gush deck is concerned I tried something a little different than your list and it ran quite smooth. Cobra was impressive at letting you cast high cmc spells with a 22 mana source mana base. I had mana drain in there for sure since with cobra any uncracked fetchland potentially represents a mana drain. I also added Future Sight to the deck, since cobra can power it out quite well and the card is totally broken in the deck, especially with Fastbond in play.
