Hello everyone!

My latest article went up on PureMTGO.com, and I hope you'll all enjoy it. Titus Chalk, author of the book, "So, do you wear a cape?" was kind enough to grant me an interview.

Other topics I discuss are the crop of Monastery Mentor Control decks popping up all over MTGO Daily Events. I discuss three different lists that went 3-1 or better, including my latest version of Jeskai Mentor.

I'm really, really loving Monastery Mentor these days.  Very Happy

Monastery Mentor Control has become the number one deck on MTGO! I'm happy to say that I was playing it slightly before everyone else, although it was still quite popular when I made it.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you all think of the article, the interview, and my deck. There are links to buy Titus' book (which is really, really good, by the way).

One of the reasons that I'm doing so much Vintage content, besides the fact that I love the format, is that I want to promote it. I'd love to get even more people playing on Magic Online, and if that translates over into paper as well, fantastic. I'm interested in including more interviews, and I'm looking for experienced Vintage players to fill that role.

Thanks!

Thank you for posting.  You write very well and it's great to have another Vintage enthusiast promoting the format.

That means a lot man! Thanks.

I started playing Magic in 1995, but I never played Vintage or owned more than 2 pieces of power (although I did have a Bazaar before it was any good, as well as a Library).

After a long break, I started playing again, pretty much just online due to convenience and cost. So, I'm new to Vintage, but I knew a lot of the cards already.

Any compliment from established players of the format makes me very happy. Thanks for reading!

Joe, very nice article!  I really loved Titus' book as well and found it hard to put down.  I just re-read it a month or two ago and it's just as good.  I wish he would get it printed in paper so I could put it on my bookshelf.

If we all support his book, then a printing in paper is more likely!

I've been reading the book a third time now, and I still love it. I'm spreading the word about the book everywhere I can!

Hi Gribdogs! Thanks so much for the kind words - and believe me, I'm working hard on finding a publisher! I have a tweaked and trimmed version of the manuscript on my hard drive, which is currently in the hands of a literary agent in London. I believe he finally sent our proposal to publishers last week, having spoken to a few editors at the London Book Fare last month.

Now, we're in wait and see territory - which is a pretty tough place to be. But I believe in the book (especially having really worked hard on improving the text for a new version) and I believe in its commercial viability - which, like it not, is really what will decide whether it finds a home or not.

I would like to get the story out to a wider audience, one not necessarily experts in Magic. So I do believe trying to find a mainstream press is the way to go. But should that not work, then I will have to see if there's a another way to get a print version out there (crowdfunding for example).

In the meantime, I can't thank anyone who took the plunge and bought the e-book enough - means a lot to me and I'm really glad you've got something out of the reading experience.

I loved the book so much, that writing the article spurred me to read it again. Thanks for doing the interview. I really do appreciate it.
