Hello again everyone! This week, I discuss the five pillars of Vintage, and give some example deck lists. This is a subject that is likely well-understood by a majority of TMD users, but since some of my audience may be new to the format, I wanted to get them this information in an fashion that's easy to digest.

There's a deck list of "The Deck", as I decided that it was a distant ancestor to modern decks in the Mana Drain pillar. I also included a "Dack/Stax" deck that I found here the other day. The Atog Lord beat me with it the other night in a Daily Event, and I thought it was too cool to not share!

Also, I have a special guest interview with Kevin Cron. I am such a fan of SMIP, and also of Stephen Menendian's writing, it was an honor for me to get the interview.

I really want to thank Kevin, and everyone here at TMD, you've all been so helpful to me, I couldn't write this stuff without all I've learned here.

Thanks!

Joe Fiorini Very Happy

I think you forgot to include a link in the post. I found it myself but you'd probably want to edit that in.

Nice article, I enjoyed reading it!

Lyna turned to the figure beside her. "They're gone. What now?"
"As ever," said Urza, "we wait."

I sure did! Thanks for catching that. Thanks for reading! The group of people I've met playing Vintage has honestly been the best group I've ever associated with. Everyone's been very helpful, it's really amazing.

I've had fun playing with you online as well. I don't think I'll be playing the Daily tonight, family stuff, but look for me playing pick-up games this weekend!

Nice article. I think you should interview Menendian next and ask about his History of Vibtage series. Get it some more spotlight for the MTGO crowd since it's been a couple years since his last one. It really helps one appreciate the richness surrounding Vintage and is a great history of Magic to boot. It's a very nice complimentary piece to Titus' book.

That's certainly a good idea, although sometimes it takes a bit to set things up. And I'd tweeted to Kevin before, so it was a bit easier.

I get a great deal of inspiration from Stephen's work, and the podcast. I've said it before, but the content Kevin and Stephen produce sets a very high bar for quality. It's important though, because the level of depth they go into sheds light onto how wonderfully complex and strategic the game really is. I wouldn't be interested in Magic if that wasn't the case.

Thanks for reading! I'm glad you liked it.
