The Eternal Spotlight: Little Workshop of Horrors

http://puremtgo.com/articles/eternal-spotlight-little-workshop-horrors

In this week's article, I go over a few things I learned about playing Shops, and playing against Shops with other decks. I go over a few sideboard cards, and speak of their potency from the eyes of a Shops player. Which ones have the most impact? Which ones are impossible (or nearly so) to come back from? What is the best strategy to overcome a Workshop deck?

Also, I discuss the Metalworker Combo list I've been playing with, and give my first impressions on that deck.

Vote for which deck I play and write about next by sending me a Tweet @josephfiorinijr

Thanks for reading!

I've read all of the articles that you've posted, and I have to say that this is the best so far. I'm glad that you made the point about how the format needs Workshop decks to prevent it from becoming completely inbred. Some people tend to forget this when arguing for the deck to be gutted by restrictions. I'm always glad to see people taking the time to create Vintage content, keep it up!

Thanks, that means a lot to me. As far as I'm concerned, if the users of The Mana Drain like my Vintage content, then that's all that matters! I've been receiving a lot of positive feedback, and that makes the six+ hours I spend each week writing worth it.

I'm brainstorming ways to get new players interested in Vintage on Magic Online. I think if I can find somewhat cheaper decks that perform somewhat well, decks that can win a match here or there, it would help a lot. Most people don't realize that Standard is really more expensive when you factor in rotations and price spikes.

So far, the number of votes for the next deck I'll play aren't much. Hopefully, enough people participate to make in interesting. Doomsday and Landstill are the two suggestions so far.

If Landstill ends up being the deck I pick, I'll be running Shockwave's list, as it seems pretty awesome. He always crushes my dreams every Daily Event where we face each other.  Very Happy
