This weekend is Eternal Weekend! For some of you, that means hopping off your computers and heading to Philidelphia to partake in the Woodstock of Eternal Magic. I wish I could be with you, but I'll be following along as much as I can. In today's article, I talk about some decks that will be played at Vintage Champs, and what decks I think won't be making it to the top of the heap. Enjoy!

Questions, comments, and Trolls can be sent to: https://twitter.com/josephfiorinijr or your local library.

While I didn't make any absolute predictions of the top eight, I did pretty good in predicting what decks would do well. Some were a no-brainer, like Shops, and I figured that Martello Shops would be the best Workshop variant.

I did pick Ryan Eberhart's Delver deck as the best Gush deck, and I featured Sullivan Brophy's Dredge deck as well. Talking to him I could tell that he knew his stuff, and I had a feeling that he'd do well.

I also featured Brian Kelly's Oath deck, and this is the quote for those who didn't read it:

"I know that Oath has been written off by some players lately, and even I don't play it anymore. I think though that since Shops decks are becoming more popular (online at least) that Oath might get some free Griselbrands, and it's hard to lose with a flying, lifelinking Yawgmoth's Bargain swinging for seven each turn. It would likely take a different approach to do well with the deck, either running a streamlined list like Mark Tocco, or trying something completely new like Brian Kelly's Oath deck."

I don't usually toot my own horn, but I feel good about the choices I made. I was wrong about Grixis Thieves though, I didn't see that coming. I wonder if people were unprepared to stop the Key Vault combo (lack of Null Rod/Stony Silence)?

Rereading your article you definitely called it!  Vendors running out of Petrified fields is something no one could have predicted but that T8 was awesome! I am sad there wasn't enough cameras to catch the other matches but I am really happy we got to see Brian in the semis! Round 10 was awesome as well with people finding out about the existence of Magus of the Moat.
