Is this deck still viable with the restriction of Chalice?

I think it's going to have a huge difference to not have access to turn 1 chalice consistently. You have to sink 5 mana into your chalice at 1 plan and that's a huge investment. People will start playing more 1 drops though so it will become a slightly more powerful play.

It hurts turn 1-2 a lot. I agree but you still end up with the same strengths and this deck loves thirst

Awkward... I did enjoy the article though! I've always enjoyed Blood Moon in vintage.

That's actually +4 and -3 Because it's actually: -3 Chalice -1 Dig +1 Trinket +3 Thirst

Still seems like the deck needs an overhaul now that 1cc spells aren't the obstacle that they were before. I would look at more than just the 4 Chalice and X Dig: Mindbreak Trap Dismember Fire//Ice And the lack of: Brainstorm Ponder Bolt Spell Pierce Red Blasts

Have you been testing the deck in the emerging meta?
I've been playing variants of this deck consistently for the last few months and am finding myself losing terribly to steel city vault or other comboish decks. Chalice simply bought so much time in these matchups, and I'm not sure what else could play this role. I'd love to hear your thoughts about the deck's future direction.

I played a Blue Moon variant to a top 32 finish in the online event, finishing 5-2: 4 Trinket Mage 1 Inferno Titan 1 Consecrated Sphinx 1 Batterskull 3 Dack Fayden 3 Jace, the Mindsculptor 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Time Walk 4 Mana Drain 4 Force of Will 1 Misdirection 1 Treasure Cruise 1 Dig through Time 3 Sudden Shock 3 Blood Moon 1 Fiery Confluence 1 Trinisphere 1 Chalice of the Void 1 Engineered Explosives 1 Black Lotus 5 Moxen 1 Mana Crypt 1 Sol Ring 2 Ancient Tomb 6 Island 1 Mountain 4 Scalding Tarn 1 Tolarian Academy 2 Volcanic Island 1 Hurkyl's Recall 2 Mindbreak Trap 1 Dismember 1 Ravenous Trap 4 Smelt 1 Tormod's Crypt 4 Grafdigger's Cage 1 Engineered Explosives Going forward, I would cut the Titan, Mountain, and a Trinket Mage for a Second Sphinx, 3rd Volcanic, and 2nd Batterskull. SB, would have more antistorm cards.
