http://www.eternalcentral.com/2016vintagechecklist/A guy at a local tournament asked me for this at the last Eudo event. A pretty simple request, yet something no one really does. Nor something I've done since my last written set review, a few years ago. Someday soon, I thought. But I got to working on this about the same time as the MTGO Power Nine Challenge metagame report, and didn't stop until I was done. This is a different approach than I've taken in the past. I have all of the usual lists here, but I've also got everything sorted into a multi tab excel spreadsheet in a preformatted way to monitor your collections and quantities. It's great for the Vintage newbie or expert alike. Feedback is welcome. Stephen

Thanks for putting this together, Steve. The DGM list really came in handy when we were designing Vintage Masters.

Thanks for the kind words, Ethan. What prompted me to produce this version was a request made by a vintage irregular at my local card shop, so I'm glad that these products have so many uses.
Considerable effort and thought was put into the design and utility of this particular version, so I'd love to hear feedback on how user friendly they found this to be and whether they decided to use it in managing their MTGO or paper collections.

I've given up on trying to manage my Vintage collection (I don't realistically believe that I'll ever reacquire the Power that was stolen from me in the 90's) but the Excel spreadsheet seems like a great tool.

Never say never. I sold off my power back at PTNO in 2004 and then the rest of my collection was stolen at Dallas regionals in 2005. rebuilt for 2 years, then sold out after Grand Prix Flash I was so mad at the dci for their little errata bs ruining the gp. got back in 2013 and now rebuilt my collection bigger than it ever was before though it has been at great cost

About a week ago a friend of mine was trying to sell off cards, so I was rooting around trying to figure out what I was missing. I literally hunted around to see if you had written a checklist article last year, and was disappointed that you hadn't. I saw this post yesterday and I immediately bought a copy.
Sure, anyone's exact list of vintage deckbuilding stuff isn't going to be identical, but as a jumping off point, it was a huge timesaver. Thanks for putting this out there, Stephen!

Great compilation. I was thrilled to see two Dragonlords listed. I think it may be possible to include Ojutai on the list as well now. He's still seeing play, certainly has been doing work bringing home the treasure on my end, and is of course memorable for placing in the Top 8 of the Vintage Champs trials in one of the UW Moat decks. Thank you for continuing to produce such detailed content for enthusiasts of Vintage.

As someone looking to branch out from more than one deck on MTGO I'm definitely going to put this to use.

Thanks for the spreadsheet! Looks useful. I will use the list to build my own spreadsheet to manage my Vintage/Legacy modo collection.
Looking through the lists I saw a Cabal Pit there and it caught my eye. I have never seen that card before and could only find a legacy pox list that runs it. What's the cards function in Vintage and has it seen play recently?

Cabal Pit saw some play recently as a way for Dredge lists to remove Containment Priest. I can't remember the argument for using it over Barbarian Ring, which also casts Ingot Chewer. Perhaps easier to activate (e.g. with Dakmor Salvage)?

I didn't even realize Cabal Pit was on the list (that is, I don't remember putting it there), but that explanation makes the most sense. It was used by Twuan Pwnertown years ago in Workshops as a way to neutralize Welders, but could also be used against Pyromancers, etc.

Perhaps easier to activate (e.g. with Dakmor Salvage)? Yes, the reason to play it over Barbarian ring would be that it is easier to activate. In addition some of the less common builds of dredge do not have access to red at all. Whereas dredge decks will pretty much always include black mana, due to cards like urborg and dakmor salvage, but it does not have any such red source available to it.
