I love seeing pics of these old decks. Any chance anyone has a copy of Inquest #1 sitting around? I'd like to see a pic of the "Bayou Lightning" deck that is in it, i remember wanting to build that as a kid.

There was another old decklist too, probably from an early scrye that was mono black I remember wanting to build as a kid, It has Sinkholes, Hymns, Hippies, and Demonic Hordes. I'd love to see that decklist but I don't have enough information to narrow it down. When I first learned of this format I immediately wanted to build that deck. I'm running a mono-black juzam deck now

It doesn't matter to me as long as they take the sex offender route and have to introduce themselves to their opponents each round as a known cheater and a confession of their methods of cheating -- "Hi, i'm Alexis, I play multiple lands a turn, pre-sideboard, cannot be trusted to shuffle either of our decks and have a generally poor and disrespectful attitude, would you like to roll to see who goes first?"

It is common knowledge that there are known cheaters in the vintage community that are unbanned that can play in events. Seems like a double standard to me, a cheater is a cheater, we should let them in, or we should bar all known cheaters in our completely casual unsanctioned tournaments.

Either way I commend the stance.

I have a few:

Early 1995 - Opponent is playing a fully powered deck with chaos orb, i'm playing a 80+ card deck with Nicol Bolas, Lord of the Pit, Force of Nature, Shivan Dragon, Royal Assassin, Leviathan, and Colossus of Sardia. Its quite hot in the store so there is a fan by the table, Opponent activates his chaos orb, lifts it up, flips it, and it flies ten feet away. He's furious and wants a redo, I decline him the opportunity.

Early 1995 - I witness a famous future pro tour player pick his nose and eat the ensuing booger at a tournament in Edison NJ.

Mid 1995 - I'm playing 60 (and by 60 I mean 64) card decks by this point and enter a local tournament for a mox pearl. I don't remember what i'm on but it is probably millstones with serra angels. The store draws byes out of a hat. I get 3 byes over the five rounds and make it to the top 8. Through sheer luck I make it to game 3 of the finals and my opponent is playing dingus egg land destruction, I have nothing in play except for a felwar stone and my opponent is at 12 and I draw balance. He is attacking me with a single kurd ape every turn and i'm praying for a tundra, five or six turns later I slam it down, cast balance, and say "I win!". My opponent has no idea what is going on until i point to is double dingus eggs and the fact that he has a boat load of lands out and he gets furious, yelling "I didn't want that f-ing mox anyway I have three of them at home already". I guess he changed his tune because he offered me $80 for it about ten minutes later.

Mid 1996 - I discovered "The Deck" online and am playing that. No one else in my area is fully powered at this point and I win every single tournament for months on end. I think after 4-5 months I randomly lose to back to back mulligans into oblivion and quit the game out of boredom.

I'm really excited that these are a monthly event now!

Having your buttcrack hang out in public is never, ever, ever, ever acceptable. This isn't bullying of fat people, this is the average person getting bullied by someone pompous enough to let their buttcrack hang out in public. Its completely offensive, crude, and should be pointed out as disgusting behavior.

My favorite chaos orb story was back in early 95 playing against a guy on an incredibly hot summer afternoon with a small fan sitting on the table blowing up at our faces. He holds the card up in the air and flips it and it blows about ten feet across the room. My and my friends were laughing our asses off at him because he always beat out crappy revised decks with his fully powered deck and then he had the gull to ask for a redo. It pretty much made my year.

I was writing a program that scraped pricing data from various sites and you basically have to resort to OCR with SCG if you don't use the cart trick. If you haven't seen their html code yet it is a fun puzzle.

You can add the items to a shopping cart to see the price, then remove it. Most apps that have SCG pricing are doing this, though there are some people doing OCR for private use.

Do you know the 'add to cart' trick for star city games pricing?

My first deck was a terrible five color deck with every expensive revised era card in it. Force of Nature. Leviathan. Nicol Bolas (pre chronicles). Royal assassin. Shivan Dragon. Lord of the pit.

I'm pretty sure I usually started casting spells around turn eight and lost to any deck with any kind of focus as all.

Do you guys have proxy or non-proxy events down there? Whats the tournament scene like?

Are you going to sell this as a full book eventually? I'm interested but the ideal of paying 17 times isn't really appealing. I'd rather pay something like $15 or $20 once if there was a subscription to the whole series.
