My choice is simple : Stasis decks when it was dominant. Haha..

Gotta luv this card.!

And I would add the deck "parfait". ( Base mechanic :  Land tax / Scroll Rack / Zuran Orb )

There seems to be a flood of bad fakes on eBay recently, even more than the usual crowd.

The only solution - buyer beware. Nothing else can save people. It is hard to get stuff taken down at times, so people really need to know what they are doing when spending any amount of money.

I'd love to be able to personally shut down every single scam, and warn every single buyer, but it just is not logistically possible with the large market place that is ebay, and the internet in general.

The sad reality..

Scammers seem to be everywhere around us. But on the Internet.. they do not just seem, they are.
4  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: If you got a free $2,000 to buy Magic cards with, what would you buy? on: March 21, 2006, 10:58:39 pm
Get the blue duels I'm missing.  Get 2 Drains, 2 Shops and 2 Bazaar of Baghdad so I can play anything in T1 with 10 proxies.  Then I'd get a set of Time Vaults so I'm set in Legacy.  Then I'd start filling in random staples (Intuition, Cabal Therapy, Grim Tutor), and set myself up for T2 with the rest.

I like this idea of the blue duels with the 10 proxies!
5  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: If you got a free $2,000 to buy Magic cards with, what would you buy? on: March 17, 2006, 01:35:28 am
Mmm.. Revised Wild Growth worth.. 10 cents? So, I would buy 20000 Revised Wild Growth. Yep.

Or else, a beta black lotus. Still not sure about the right thing to do.
I think you should buy a calculator.

Wait.. with 1 bucks, you get 10 wild growth at 10 cents each. With 2000 bucks, you get 2000 x 10 wild growth, wich leads to 20000 wild growth.  Wink

7  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: [Discussion] Unrestrictions? on: February 21, 2006, 08:11:50 pm
4 Librairies is just something impossible. That would be, by far, too much insane.

Due to his cost, I don't think Regrowth should be unrestricted. 4 x Regrowth, 4 x Merchant Scroll, 1 x Ancestrall. And ya got too much ancestralls per game. Mr. Green Add some "restricted l33t g00dies"  around and regrowth become the 2+ x of every other brokeness.

Unrestricting Grim monolith could lead to a new !COMBO! : Power Artifact, Voltaic Construct, Grim Monolith!

Just kidding here but still, Grim is too much of an accelerator to let some decks run four of it.

Voltaic Key? I don't really see the !DANGER! of it.. 4 x Voltaic, 4 x Timevault ( with the old wording of the card? ) Hehe I know it does not work. NO TIME COUNTER. But still, I try to find a !DANGER! for Voltaic key being unrestricted and I don't see any.

As a judge, I can say that talking about DQs or DQ investigations is prohibited outside of the staff running an event, and they are quite strict about that. There was a post to the Judge mailing list from the Judge Manager in a thread that discussed a DQ that consisted of the following line:

Quote
Welcome to level zero again for numerous violations of protocal, ethics,
and procedure.

The DCI investigates DQs to ensure that the DQ was a justified DQ, as well as other purposes.

Rich is right in his concerns about how a list like this could very easily be used for vindictive purposes, rather than just as a list to aid TOs. I can't say that I could see very much good coming from it.

Aa. Did not saw that side of the medal. You are right.  Neutral

What Ray has just done is great, I'm happy for you and I hope we'ill one day find what is missing.

Quote
They can then decide whether they want to admit them to their tournament, or at least be aware to keep an eye on them.  Nothing like getting black-balled all over the world.  The list could be periodically updated and names removed after a period of time deemed reasonable.

I really like this idea. Maybe not in all local tournaments around the globe but in big events, it would be great to have that list.

These days, I'm reading many various Encyclopedias and Atlas. Some are well-made and the content, very interesting.

Anyone knows the material they use to alterate cards? I mean some good pencils or painting?

Diabolic Edicts are quite impressive. I saw once a great set of Force of Will also, don't remember where it was.

My vote goes to the Steelers. Based on any facts? No, just a random guess.
17  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: How would the creation of these cards impact type one? on: January 13, 2006, 07:24:39 pm
Wizards would just never reprint broken cards like that. They did the "mistake" in the begining but now, it would totally wreck the game and they try to avoid, even if they sometimes kind of miss, the creation of such broken cards today.
18  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: My cards have been stolen, has anyone else been through this? on: December 01, 2005, 02:00:03 am
Good luck for ya, sometimes dealing with insurances is hard, especially about stolen cards. Do you have any proof ( like old picture of your cards ) that you could show?
19  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: You Make the Card TMD #1 - The Ability on: November 24, 2005, 01:57:43 am
Here's the one we should vote for :

[Spell name] deals 3 damages to target creature or player.

Seriously, what about :
[Spell name] deals 3 damages to all creatures and players. Any damaged creatures or player take double damage from any further source until end of turn.
20  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Pimpage; How do you do it? on: November 23, 2005, 10:10:16 pm
I'd have to whore my self out to a million fat chicks to get the money to do that Razz.

We got our best method!

Seriously, it depends on many many factors..  Mr. Green
21  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: tired of my deck... looking for new one to beat to death on: October 27, 2005, 08:04:27 pm
Try Dragon, with a lot of disruption main ( in order to ensure the no sideboard issue ).

But, dragon is a deck you can be tired fast so like others said, try some deck of Legacy.

Personnaly, I would try Dragon or any Survival of the Fittest deck ( Survival is very consistent even without sideboard because most of ur solutions are main deck ).
22  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Dark Beer vs. Light on: October 25, 2005, 11:56:44 pm
Alcool? What is this? Never heard of that.

I prefer dark beer over light beer but, I'll be satisfied with almost any kind of beer.  When I say almost, it is because it excludes the Teen's favorite : Black Label Power 10... For 5 $, they get more than just drunk.
23  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Roots of Decay on: October 21, 2005, 03:37:52 pm
Then, let's change this to :

Putrid Shackles
 {B} {W} {2}
Enchant Creature

During enchanted creature's controller upkeep, put a -1/-1 counter on enchanted creature.
Enchanted creature cannot attack or block or use any activated ability.
Whenever enchanted creature leaves play, return <CARDNAME> to its owners hand.

Darn, can't get ride of those shackles!
24  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Roots of Decay on: October 21, 2005, 11:50:53 am
Oups, forgot the Current Wording.

Current Wording :

{G} {B} {2}
Enchant Creature

During enchanted creature's controller upkeep, put a -1/-1 counter on enchanted creature.
Enchanted creature cannot attack or block or use any activated ability.
If enchanted creature leaves play, return Roots of Decay to owner's hands.

Darn, can't get ride of those putrid roots..

I removed the last ability but I suggest we keep the color choice, keeping the flavor of the card.

26  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Goblin Necromancer on: October 20, 2005, 12:30:17 pm
This card is a way too broken. Imagine this card in a Survival of the Fittest/Anger deck in Legacy? Mr. Green
It controls even your opponent's creatures!
27  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: What other Formats do you play? on: October 18, 2005, 01:20:52 pm
I'm always willing for any format.

The 2 conditions :

- Cards are available. ( I do not own much T2 cards so I have to borrow them )
- Have enough time to get prepared for the event if it's a tournament. ( Metagame, some playtesting, etc.. )

It's also possible that they just found a really good deal on translating the cards into Italian. Even with Magic's early success, Wizards was still a small company back then, so their actions may have been dictated as much by opportunity as by choice.

It was probably a matter of opportunism. In the early Magic, maybe it was the second biggest market outside of america? A Wizard employee will probably come post the answer HERE soon.

30  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Will of the Forsakens on: October 06, 2005, 06:13:37 pm
Fine with me for the sorcerie. Instant would be better but in the context of the card, I admit being a sorcery fits more.

Will of the Forsakens
 {B} {B} {B} {2}
Sorcery
As an additionnal cost, remove the top fifteen cards from your library from the game. Search your library for up to 2 cards and put them in your hand.

Do what they always wanted to do, a long time ago...

This card in a Death Wish/Jet Medaillon combo deck would fit perfectly!

{B} {B} {3}, I don't think this card has its place in a two colors deck. I really want the card to be axed into the mono {B} decks.
Keeping the flavor of the card.  Wink
