Menedian is on the bubble, I think he's at 18 points and needs to win for a 7-2 record to make day 2.

Unfortunately, I have to work Sunday and will miss this event.  GL to all attending.

Can we see the Threshold list that top 8'd? Any other T8 lists would be welcome as well.

I built the deck to beat the threshold mirror as the last legacy event in Michigan that I attended had an overabundance of threshold.  Dryads replaced werebears allowing me to name bears with meddling mage.  I suppose my opponents could have done the opposite to me but it never happened.  They also are more resilient to graveyard hate.  AKs were a last minute replacement for mental notes, basically trading tempo for card advantage.  Misdirection was always gold for me even as a one of.

This tournament was a blast.  I played uwg threshold because I left my polluted deltas at home and couldn't build my trinket mage deck.  I lost to phil cape in the quarterfinals (obv!)  I liked seeing the diversity in deck choices and can't wait for next month's tournament for a mox.

If you love Legacy, you'll want to play as many rounds as possible and relish in the event. Playing in a GP is a neat opportunity, and you should savor every moment. I wouldn't take a Bye if you paid me.

I like this game as much as the next guy, but turning down byes at a pro tour level event is something that I could never do.  I like winning a little too much.

Byes at a Grand Prix are kindve a big deal.  It means you start playing against more established decks and don't lose to randomness.

This is great news.  I am glad we are getting such great prize support.  As an added bonus for PT hopefulls this is an excellent opportunity to increase your eternal rating to get byes to the Grand Prix this spring.

Congrats on your finish.  On a side note, I am really looking forward to the next legacy toruney at Pandemonium next month.  We should get a pretty good turnout this time.

You and luckymartyr both friggin slept through the tournament?  What do I have to do, hire chicks in bikinis to walk around holding up the round pairings?

I didn't actually sleep through the touney.  I worked 30 consecutive hours prior to it and knew I wouldn't get there in time.  On the plus side, when I did get there
I recovered a lost deck and kept someone from being an extremley upset legacy player.  I will try to make it this time.

A lost deck was turned into the store afterthe tournament ended.  The owner of said deck will have to identify its contents to retrieve it.

I had a blast at this tournament.  I was one of the many threshold players in the group.  Despite some really bad plays I managed to split with Paul in the finals.  Thought that I would post my list.  It's pretty standard with 2 notable differences.

Guys (13)
4 Nimble Mongoose
4 Werebear
4 Meddling Mage
1 Mystic Enforcer

Spells: (29)
4 Force of Will
3 Daze
2 Counterspell
4 Serum Visions
4 Mental Note
4 Brainstorm
3 Swords to Plowshares
1 Misdirection
2 Stifle
2 Pithing Needle

Lands (18)
4 Windswept Heath
4 Flooded Strand
3 Tundra
3 Tropical Island
1 Island
1 Forest
1 Plains
1 Nantuko Monastery

Sideboard (15)
3 Kataki
3 Blue elemental blast
2 Compost
1 Engineered explosives
3 Tormod's Crypt
2 Joten Grunt
1 Disenchant

I won so many games on the back of Monastery.  I think that it is invaluable in the mirror match and should be an autoinclude if you expect a threshold heavy metagame.  Misdirection is a very versatile card and usually ends up sending a StP back at one of your opponents guys or acting like your fifth FoW.  If I have time I will post a tournament report later but some of the highlights of the day were:

Losing round 1 to Brian DeMars because he boarded in Xantid Swarm and Bayous into Iggy Pop.  I was able to deal with 2 of those little buggars but 3, C'mon...

Forgeting to draw off a compost trigger when Spencer duressed me...

Forgeting to pay the cumulative upkeep on Joten grunt giving me six cards in the yard; stifling my opponents Joten Grunts cumulative upkeep to give me threshold and swinging in for the win with a pumped up mystic enforcer...

Yes sometimes horrible players do actually win magic tournaments.
Can't wait for the next one and to see if time spiral changes the format.  Wanted to thank Pandemonium Games again for hosting this tournament

Way to go Phil and Jon.  I  I really wanted to play in the flint tourney but couldn't beceause of other responsibilities.  Nice post by the way.  You should definitely think about writing more tournament reports this way.  RIW members win enough tournaments so that shouldnt be a problem.

Congrats on your win once again.
