Am i the only person on the planet who hates non-english cards? I just hate not being able to read the cards, even if i know what they do. Since when did unreadable = pimp? *sigh*
Anyway i have no idea how to value non-english cards.
/Zeus
ps. I know everyone uses the term "foreign cards" but since english is not my mothertongue i prefer "non-english".
You are not alone, my friend. It might be cool if you can read the foreign language, but it's definitely not cool if you can't read japanese but have your deck pimped out in japanese anyway.

I'm pretty sure that of the cards that were restricted, they could have chosen any 3 and shaken up the format enough to neuter any decks they felt were overpowering (GAT, Tyrant Oath, Flash, Painter, etcetc) and not totally ruin it for everyone.
Someone was hitting the crack pipe. It's the only logical explanation.

Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Dear Wizards, please fix Mox Diamond

It would appear that "ask and ye shall receive" is the order of the day on Mox Diamond. However.... New Uba Mask Oracle wording: If a player would draw a card, that player removes that card from the game face up with a mask counter on it instead. Each player may play each card with a mask counter on it he or she removed from the game this turn.
The Mask x2 + Welder lock no longer works, and this makes me frowny inside.

The pictures of a Tarmogoyf with a red die set on 3 on it, including the one with Yawgwill, are of me (SuperLong) playing against Manny (GAT). I won that game by Threads of Disloyalty'ing his Goyf, attacking him to 2, then topdecking into Tendrils while on 2 life after the Threads got REB'd.
As far as actual tournaments go, I had a miserable day. The Draw7's in SuperLong let me down all day. Memory Jar into 6 mana and a Force? Timetwister into 2 Duresses, 2 Thoughtseizes, 2 Rituals, and a Force? Give me a break. And my match against Lotushead was also a mess. Hardcast Colossus after getting Cap'd. D'oh, Memnarch. Cast and activate Mindslaver the turn before I win. Oh well.
However, that's not to say I had a crappy day. It was good to just hang with you guys again after not seeing you guys for so long. And building a cube stack is turning out to be the best Magic decision I've made in months. Drafting at Denny's after the site closed was surreal and a blast. Especially when I got to Seismic Assault a Sundering Titan dead, then attack with Ophidian and Solemn Simulacrum for the win.

I'm not sure it's fair to compare the off color Moxen in other Long builds with the Rituals in SuperLong. The other Long builds also run Rituals, so it's more accurate to describe it as -3 moxes, +3 Ponder. I'm glad you cut that Desire nonsense, it's so bad in this deck (Gifts has been turning out to be awesome in testing). Along the vein of things that are bad in this deck, however, unfortunately includes the draw-7s. The power level of the deck is so low that post-timetwister, you frequently burn on mana or just cast Duress before passing the turn. Memory Jar is so much better because you can Brainstorm/Ponder and break in response, which is usually good enough to get there. From my testing, SuperLong is much more stable than GrimLong but feels simply underpowered compared to PitchLong decks from a few months ago. However, the stable mana base makes SL strictly better than GL against the rising Stax/9-sphere MUD decks.
In other news, the website seems to have changed and the link to the articles section is, uh, gone?
