I'm going to come across as heavy handed and say the entire situation is your fault for not being prepared. Wow, what a way to begin a post... That's the only issue here at all. I don't believe there is any chance that the dice were "loaded." I believe it's absurd to insinuate that your opponent was cheating when you were the only one who was in the wrong. I don't really remember him "insinuating" a damn thing, just making a point. Then to try and get the guy in trouble because you suspect the dice are somehow rigged is amazing.Â
Where in the first post did he say he was trying to get the person in trouble? Sorry, this is the most asaniasinine I've ever seen on this forum...please read the first post before flaming it.

Not to take this in too different a direction, but how about something like this:
R Creature- Goblin Haste Other creatures you control have Echo. 2/1
Red is always looking for fun and exciting ways to make a Jackal Pup clone that is playable but not overpowered. This particular ability, if made into a one-sided effect and therefore a drawback, might be interesting. Just an idea.
I like this idea, but it's a totally different card. But seems a lot more realistic. I like the original idea, but it seems like a long road to make it fit aggro styles only and not just another tool for a control deck.

I like the idea, my first thought was why make this 1R? I'm thinking it's fairly priced at just 'R' since you're going to most likely be playing it alongside other creatures it seems fair. I guess there is the possibility that this could play a role as an anti-aggro card, but I just don't see it. Just my thoughts.

I think the 'thopters become dead weight when you don't have a ravager out. If you add plating then they could be very nice, but seeing as how they aren't single-clampable they become pretty much dead draws if I'm looking at the list correctly.

Matt, Consultation can cut down your decksize, and I've seen it happen. I haven't played much Belcher, so I'll let someone with more knowledge of the deck discuss specifics, but I wouldn't play 4 Consultations in Belcher.
you could play Brass Man + Quicksilver Dagger + Mind Over Matter as your kill. You are playing in a format with 4 Lotii, 4 DTs, 4 Lotus Petals, 4 Sapphires, 4 Mox Jets, and more. Decks are either retarded, counter-retarded, or counter-counter retarded. You don't need to really have a good kill nearly as much as you need Broken to set up that kill.
While I still agree that the whole idea behind this thread is pretty lame I think I should point out that the OP did state that we should leave mana accel alone, so it still wouldn't be 4x lotii, 4 x moxen, etc..

The only 'unlikely' card on that list I could ever see coming off is Entomb. And considering this format treats the grave like it's second home, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.
Agreed, and while the dredge mechanic at first glance makes it seem as if this card isn't as powerful as before as feeding cards into your grave becomes less and less of a chore, feeding that one imp to the yard can be ridiculously broken. I think 4 entombs could give tog or dragon quite a push.

With Time Walk on the restricted list, Time Spiral can come off because it's simply not as strong. I guess I just don't understand this statement, could you please elaborate? It would be a long process to truly figure things out. But then again, T1 should be around for quite some time. Isn't that what the last 10 years have been?

Just wanted to touch on a point that was mentioned briefly earlier regarding unpowered decks and unpowered prize support. I believe that if WotC supported T1, but took a slightly different approach it could be healthy for the format. Let me explain (and yes, I agree with most of the arguments about why WotC will not support T1, just my thoughts).
Now I've never been to any of the major T1 events being that I can rarely afford it but if WotC held a few more sanctioned events a year for T1 with a prize structure that paid out normally as well as for "unpowered" decks or decks w/o restricted cards, whatever then they in and of themselves could generate a lot more interest in the format. You would have many more people interested in and designing decks around competing for these prizes and sooner or later this interest would mature and these players would become familiar with/interested in power and truly competing in the environment. Now I know this might mean a lot more scrubby decks in the first few rounds but it would also stimulate deck design around beating 'powered' decks with 'unpowered' decks and could be an overall healthy addition to the format.
I know several of the non-sanctioned events sometimes offer prizes for 'unpowered' decks but I think if this was done in a sanctioned environment it could truly stimulate some interest from a field of players that just don't want to attempt to conquer the price barrier.
Just my thoughts.

If you add mox/lotus and keep the chalices in (big 'if') you might also consider shrapnel blast over chain. Just a thought.

As for the “metagame, I see Vintage breaking down into three categories:
Combo decks that can win before you take a turn. Creature decks. Hybrids with some disruptive elements. Which one doesn't belong? Edit: There are plenty of cards that can hurt you, but they will do no harm unless they are first drawn and then successfully cast. I do love that quote however.

Hark,
While I agree with some of what you say this is, however, a good utility who may not be looking to get recruited by the top teams, but just looking for smaller teams, or anyone of some T1 intelligence to practice with. I know there is not a lot of T1 interest, or even magic interest, for that matter in some places so this may be some players only place to look for playtesting partners, teammates, whatever.
Just my thoughts on it.

Don't forget, though, that they tend to turn all of the invitational cards into creatures. I am not sure, come to think of it, that any have been released as non-creatures. So, this one will probably get revamped as well. 0/1 with that ability, maybe? Yay, lets make a more fragile card that dies to Zap... Slightly off topic, but there was an article on this a while back that discussed this very thing. It's not that they all get printed as creatures, just that most are submitted as creatures.

Re: Root Maze
It seems that this card would be just a touch too anti-synergistic (sp?) with this type of deck. I understand that you should be able to one-up them as far as your strip lock goes, but it still keeps you tapped down for a turn when you're behind on the first land count. Just seems like there are probably better options.

I would immediately add one copy of crop rotation. Also, what about crucible? Also, what do you think about bazaar? Possible in here as a draw engine?
I would probably need to playtest it with and without exploration before that decision could be made, though leaning toward probably not.
