Dicemanx, if he's going
Kevin Cron
Rich Shay
Some quebec guy with bomberman
4 people no one heard of and no one mentionnned them in this thread

Of course, good luck to all the other canadians that are going.

ps: rooting for Ray Robilliard! Smile

ps2: the above is honestly what I believe, but since Brian decided to be difficult, let's put a real, 8-man list. Also, I assume we can modify this all the way until friday evening, when we'll know for sure who is playing?

Dicemanx (champ, about time)
Kevin Cron
Rich Shay
TK
Smennen
Roland C
Mat Endress (the dude is good)

and, of course

Ray Robillard (don't disappoint)

Just so that you know:

I am not awarding people points toward the dual land for writing down something like

SOME RANDOM GUY

A CANADIAN

a random dragon deck

Somebody from the midwest

or, Dan Carp/ Ben Carp as one entry

one person per slot, eight slots, specify who is the champ

I think anyone voting for a carp should vote for Dan.  I hate to admit it, but he's a better player than a lot of people.

Travis won't even be there, and personally as of late, I think Eric's been a better performer than  Steve.  Chances are, Steve will play Pitchlong.

1) Rich Shay.

2) Nate Pease
3) Brian Demars
4) Travis LaPlante
5) Roland Chang
6) Tommy Kolowith
7) Paul Nicolo
8) DAVE FEINSTEIN :-p

I wasn't planning on attending, but Travis/Brassman/Nate Pease have room for one more person, so apparently im going.  I'd put Brassman in my top 8, but he doesn't know what he's playing at this time.  An unfocused Brassman is a non-T8 Brassman :p

As for the winner, Rich Shay seems like the odds on favorite.  He's never won it before and he's more focused this year than I've ever seen him in the past.  Anything short of a t8 out of him will be a massive disappointment.  Wow I just came off as a giant shay barn.

So those are my predictions.  I wouldn't be surprised if Either Carp, Smenenenenen, DicemanX or JOEL FROM OREGON (he'll probably beat me along the way) make t8, but I'm sticking with my above list.

It should be a very entertaining weekend.  The car ride up alone is worth the price of admission.  I look forward to meeting people I've never met in person before.  Kelp is a good example.  Ok, time to go test.  Tootles :p

Wow...I'm not on even one list...how many mox tourneys does a guy have to win to get a little respect?

That's okay...I'll just terrorize the tourney and make everyones total points lower.

And, yes, thisis trash talking.

Smile

Nah you'll just take it all home.  GO RAY!!!  Your due a victory and you'll make it.

To those who have Brassman, Nate Pease, Travis or myself (you shouldn't have me as a pick anyway :p) on your list, sorry to disappoint but that New England cluster is officially...                           NOT GOING.

Sad

There were alot of factors and all involved tried to make it work, but ultimately the trip just ain't happening.  The smart one of the group is Kyle Leith, who flew out instead of relying on us.  Good luck to him.

The decision to not go was literally just made and all individuals involved seem to agree with it.  In a nutshell, half of the car has no power, the other half doesn't know how to drive stick shift :p

So not Gencon for me.  Oh wellz.  At least I'll get to go to my first SCG.  I think.

I refuse to bet against myself, as that's silly and I think I have a good shot.

Winner: Paul Mastriano
Rest of the 8:
Steve Menendian
Roland Chang
Demarz
Becker
TK (it also seems like a bad idea to bet against this guy)
Alana Saulnier (this girl always impresses me)

Becker
Dan Carp
Shay

Tommy Kolowith. A member of ICBM. He piloted The SS (Sullivan Solution) to 1st place in SCG Rochester. He also took 1st place Day 2 of Waterbury with Pitch Long. A solid player!

lol nobody!

Why do we even do this "guess the top 8" thing anyway!? NOBODY ever gets even CLOSE.... EVER! Last time they did this at the 2nd most recent waterbury the highest score for top 16 predictions was 1 point for guessing Steve Houdlette.

It looks like a giant tie. I am very suprised nobody guessed Nick Vos or Vroman.

I'm the only person who correctly predicted a Menendian/Shay scrubout. Obv not on this thread, but I was saying it all day Thursday/Friday.

I predicted a Paul Mastriano win, but he only T4'd I think. Congrats to the Colorado guy that won!  Wink
