This is a recurring subject, but since there are a lot of new members and new sets added on a regular basis, I'm going for this one once again: What are your favorite artwork ever in MTG for every color, land and artifact?
Here I go for mine:
Black 1) Juzam Djinn (nothing even close) 2) The Abyss 3) Noritt
Green 1) Hidden Path 2) Heartbeat of Spring 3) Regrowth
White 1) Wrath of God (Beta) 2) Yosei, the Morning Star 3) Angry Mob (like the perspective)
Blue 1) Timetwister 2) Time Walk 3) Vesuvan Doppelganger
Red 1) Shivan Dragon (Beta) 2) Gravity Sphere 3) Lightning Dragon
Gold 1) Dakkon Blackblade (!!!!!) 2) Pernicious Deed 3) Hymn of Rebirth
Artifact 1) Time Vault 2) Icy Manipulator (Beta) 3) Memory Jar
Land 1) Kamigawa Basic Islands 2) Diamond Valley 3) Mishra's Factory (Winter)
Sure, there are runners up and yes, I do prefer the older cards because the new ones are too flashy. But they seem to be doing cards the way they used to (Promo Terror, Will-o-the-Wisp) and Rob Alexander is one of the few artists that's still there, but I won't argue on that point.
Come on! Let us know your tastes!

Harold McNeil's Nether Void is the best art in the game.
His circle of protections from the tempest block are pretty cool too.

Just something about its flavor and spreading an infection to your opponent.
Poor guy in the pox picture.probably has an STD. Should have had protection.

Poor guy in the pox picture.probably has an STD. Should have had protection. While I could be wrong, I always assumed the guy in the Pox picture was suffering from, well, the Pox. Art I absolutely love to death is most cards (not all) by Drew Tucker. Most notably Dandan and Argivian Blacksmith. Additionally, I really like [card]Walking Desecration[/card]'s art.

Chaos Orb and Juzam are a couple of my all-time favorites. I really like the picture on Killer Bees, too. And of course, that really cool-looking Atog (older picture) is tough to beat.
I also have to give honorable mention to the 5th edition Energy Flux's flavor text. Heraclitus rules.

Black Sengir Vampire (Torment) Yeah, that was my favorite picture from that whole block. I love the purple vest. Also, in my home town, there is a Senigir Law offices. close, but too far. I like morphling's picture, because it's the first card-art to feature Ashnod, also because I like any shape-shifter art, besides Volrath's Shapeshifter. I just like the double-image ones. When I got back into magic at the middle of Mirrodin, I was so happy of the picture they printed Clone with. I think they should print a black and blue shapeshifter/assassin that buries the creature it intends to duplicate, such as duplicant, only it gains it's abilities, too.

By the way, whos is the guy on Morphling? I might be tempted to say that it's a young Urza because he's dressed just like in Urza's Armor, but since the armor is not legendary, it might belong to any soldier. But Trollstorm thinks that it's Ashnod. Someone help!

It's NOT Ashnod. As far as I can remember, Ashnod never came into direct contact with Urza. Regardless, the outfit Morphling is 'wearing' is the standard experimenter's outfit of the Tolarian Academy, as picture on cards like [card]Exhaustion[/card] and [card]Power Taint[/card]. You can also see the telltale checkerboard pattern on [card]Academy Researchers[/card].
My favorite pieces of art:
The four Henry G. Higgenbotham pieces (Saga [card]Cathodian[/card], [card]Claws of Gix[/card], [card]Worn Powerstone[/card], and [card]Voltaic Key[/card], although they don't look nearly as good on a computer as they do IRL.
[card]Phyrexian Negator[/card], whose excellence I've written about before.
[card]Glory[/card].
[card]Frogmite[/card].
Anything by Harold McNeill, but especially [card]Enduring Renewal[/card] and [card]Flash Counter[/card].
Drew Tucker's done some good stuff. I like [card]Charcoal Diamond[/card].
The original art for [card]Regeneration[/card] is awesome. So are [card]Soldevi Digger[/card] and [card]Krovikan Horror[/card].
[card]Bottle Gnomes[/card] is good. Tempest is better than Mirrodin, but both are cute.
The Christopher Rush [card]Necrite[/card].

A bunch of the incarnations have very good art (I'm thinking specifically of Genesis and Glory, but others might have been okay; I just can't remember).
Also, [card]Necropotence[/card] is awesome. As far as I can think of right now, it's my favorite piece of Magic art.

She [Ashnod] absolutely came in contact with Urza several times, although not in any friendly way, a exchange of armor were probably not the reason they met up.
My guess would have to be that it is Ashnod, or some miser.
Favorite art - Tropical Island. That card is awesome.
So is the old Shivan Dragon and surely also the Serra Angel.
Pyramids, Mishra's Factory (Spring) and Presence of the Master (Good one, bebe!) from the old sets rock.
Ball Lightning DCI foil, Two-headed Giant of Foryies, Priest of Yawgmoth(AQ), Gate to Phyrexia(AQ) and the Pentavite token.

I asked RK Post about it, and I'm waiting for his reply. That's kinda like the guy who asked Shatner for the code to his safebox in the Tholian Web episode at a trekkie convention. @Matt: you forgot Expunge. @pox_reborn: even though (small)pox is a fundamentally different disease from the Black Death or (bubonic) plague (not the black plague, by the way), I do believe you're right. Smallpox is a much more complex and contagious disease than the bubonic plague ever was (pox is caused by a virus called Variola whereas the plague is caused by a germ called Yersinia Pestis and is therefore much more easily cured), but the marks on the guys body as well as the supposed medieval-like timeframe do seem to indicate the Black Death rather than Pox.

No wonder that you haven't been doing well in a while, Mike. I typically play with nothing but these basic lands.
Plains 1 Island 2 Swamp 3 Mountain 2 Forest 3 As for really cool art, I like Necropotence, Mystic Remora, IA Counterspell, IA Swords, Lake of the Dead, and Crater Hellion.[/quote]

And who says I haven't been doing well? Mediocre finish at Waterbury, but the tourney before that I won a mox ruby.
