@ Meddling mage:  In our match at waterbury I played Meandeck Tendrils faster than you were playing Control Slaver and we finished our match with time to spare.  3 games of Tog v. Control Slaver in an hour and ten minutes on MWS testing is testing and not tournament magic, and not even that slow.

Do you actually recall playing me Steve? You didn't remember until I brought it up in conversation that we had played a match at Waterbury. I remember and of course we finished with time to spare, you were able to go off before turn 3 in the games we played and as I recall you still took an ample amount of time in each of those turns. You're right MWS testing isn't tournament magic, in tournament magic large amounts of time is spent shuffling on MWS it's instantaneous and also MWS games aren't as important as tournament games. If anything games on MWS should go faster than tournament games, and seeing as an average round is 50 minutes with five additional turns, 70+ minutes is a relatively long time IMO. Compared to the vast majority of people I've played against IRL and on MWS I found your play to be noticeably slow.

Ok, seriously, this is getting ridiculous.  Let's all stop bickering like children about something that really doesn't matter at this point in time.  While I'm inclined to take Steve's side (but I don't want to get dragged into this argument), I'll just say this: there are situations where everyone has played slow before, or taken a longer time than the opponent deemed necessary to reach a decision.  Sometimes it's warranted, sometimes it's not.  Drop it and move on.  This sort of discussion only matters in a match where time is a factor.  Since we all seem to be posting on a message board, and not playing cards, I don't see how any of this matters.

For the record, Steve seems to finish almost all of his matches and doesn't accumulate a lot of draws.  Draws are a sign of slow play; not having many draws indicates (to me at least) that you're playing at a good pace.

Look its alot of people trying to express themselves about something totally useless. Isnt that the point of everything? If you dont want to get into it fine, but dont come attack us because I promise my 7/10 ass can block and counter attack next turn.

Actually slow play has quite often kept me from drawing... there are plenty of times I won game one and dragged game two out so it didnt finish. Slow play can be the sign of a competitive player if he knows how to use it to his advantage. It might not be the nicest thing and it may offend your opponent, but sometimes its the right thing to do.

Do you actually recall playing me Steve? You didn't remember until I brought it up in conversation that we had played a match at Waterbury.

I remember it vividly.  We were sitting in the very back table in the back - slightly right of center far back  in the ball room.  Is that detailed enough?  I was facing the wall and you were facing the room.   We were in the middle range of the tournament and it mid-tournament match.  I also remember I didn't figure out you were playing Control Slaver until game two.

Just because the match ended both games before turn three doesn't mean that the game should be fast.  With meandeck tendrils, one turn can take 15 minutes at a reasonable speed.

The reason I didn't know who you were is becuase a) you offered almost no resistence and probably made some pretty obvious play mistakes, so I thought you were a scrub and b) I had never actually heard of you before that tournament.  You had no online presence that I was aware of until afterward.  You didn't introduce yourself or anything, so how would I have known who you were until you introduced yourself?

The fact that you think I was playing slow is simply amazing becuase I blazed through that match - I was playing it as fast as I play Oath or mono blue (which is very fast (draw, go) which is impressive considering that meandeck tendrils is arguably the most complicated deck ever built.  Your memory of events is colored by your obvious prejudice.

Not too shabby of a report, but you forgot to mention a few things:

I freed the slaves.

I declared war on Iraq (the second time around: Saddam laughed at my kird apes).

I taught Rich Shay how to drive.

I molded Zvi Moshowitz into the unstoppable T1 phenomenon that he is today.

I told Mike Lydon to learn how to drive from Rich Shay.

I gave Mixing Mike his stylish tournament hat.

I introduced BrassMan to Clearasil (you should have seen him in the 80's).

I introduced Kowal to baked goods.

Most importantly:

I've won multiple pieces of power with forests.

... To Dave Feinstein!

Monkey Cage is awesome!! I actually won a game with that card once, my opponent was really mad needless to say.

The report was very funny to read, and I'm sure everyone is happy that Vintage did not get invaded by the pros and their cheating ways. Although, this did get a little off topic...
