16 people came out to play for the pastimes mox emerald, which was, of course, in crappy condition.
Representing was ((Considering I can almost name every perrson there))
Mike Solymossy (myself) played Titan Control Dan Carp (Angry Pheldagrif) played Gifts Rafe Colton played Gifts Ben Carp (Tha Gunslinga) played ICBM Oath Ryan Spindler (Rhyno) played IT Ryan Thomas (RThomas) played IT Bill Dicks (Dante) Played Burning Slaver Tommy Kolowith (TK) Played Burning Slaver I@n Degraff (I@n) played Long/Oath Transformational Dave Carhart (Scutakicker) Played ICBM Oath Ben Roberts Played ICBM Oath ??? played IT ??? Played IT ??? played TPS ??? played Control Slaver Loyd ?? Played Control Slaver
That brings the total to:
4 IT 4 Slaver (2 Burning) 3 ICBM Oath 2 Gifts 1 Titan 1 TPS 1 GrimLong/ Oath Transformational
The top 8 played out like this:
loser / winner
??? (can't remember) v Dave Carhart (ICBM Oath) ??? (Control Slaver) v. Ben Roberts (ICBM Oath) Ryan Spindler (IT) v. Tommy (burning slavery) ??? (IT) V. Ben Carp (ICBM OATH)
Top 4 Dave Carhart v Ben Carp (ICBM oath/ICBM Oath) Ben Roberts (ICBM Oath) v. Tommy Kolowith (Gifts)
The final two split, making Tommy Kolowith 3 for 3 @ passtimes for splitting pieces of power.
ICBM splits. It isn't hard when ICBM makes up 7 guys. Overall, it was a very sad tournament. Low attendance, but pretty decently run.
Highlight of the day:
I@n DeGraff "I just beat Dante From TMD by hardcasting Razia and swinging" Me "Isn't Type 4 Fun?" I@n DeGraff "No, I tapped a lotus and some orchards and moxes to hardcast Razia" Me "You Shitter I thought you were playing Long" <<<I@n Degraff hands me his deck>>> Me "Oh my god that's INSANE!" <<< apparently my face was priceless>>>
Edits: So used to Tommy playing gifts. He played BSlaver. Edited Ben's name

Yeah, GWS didn't show up to this one. We are taking days off work/school to go to the Sapphire and Jet tournaments in the next 2 weekends.
0 Stax. Interesting.

There were only 16 people, true, but it was a good 16, and they were all solid decks. In case Soly didn't make it clear, Tommy and I split the Mox. ICBM dominated the fuck out of this one.

I wasn't running exactly Burning Slaver(i.e. not Demars' list) - I had colossus in it as well as 0 Mox Monkeys, but I did have Burning Wish for the Tendrils kill (and apparently to pull Pyroclasm to kill Seasinger ) My day consisted of losing to Oath 0-2 (Oath on the board by turn 2 both games and I left my Oath sideboard cards in my binder), losing to IT, beating 13Nova (although I did have to pyroclasm away my welder to kill his seasinger), and then not caring round 4 since the top 8 was already set(although Ian did hardcast Razia and beat for the win in game 3). PS Mike - Tommy's listed as Burning Slaver in the swiss, but you had him down as Gifts in the top8- it was slaver.

Hey, I was the ??? Control Slaver player, and lost in the first round of the top eight to Oath. My name is AJ Sacher, and I'm a Pastimes local, so I'll be there for all of their power tournements. There's another one on the 27th or 29th or something...the end of the month. For any of you who don't know me, I'm the long haired kid that went 2-0-0 then drew twice. I played 3 matches all day and got 7th/8th. I traded with Tommy before the tournement for the foil Golgari Grave-Troll.
One of the ??? IT players was Joe. He's another pastimes local, but he doesn't go nearly as often as I do. I'm there every Thursday and Friday because my friends work then so I have nothing better to do. Joe usually goes Thursdays and whenever there's a big tournement. He was the one who played Remands main. He also went 2-0-0 then double drew, and also lost round 1 of the Top Eight to Oath.
Way to go ICBM. Maybe at the end of the month some GWS guys will show up and we can play for a good piece of power. -AJ

I@n DeGraff "I just beat Dante From TMD by hardcasting Razia and swinging" Me "Isn't Type 4 Fun?" This was most definitaly the highlight of the day. From the according song... The look on your face was priceless! Also, it's interesting that you put yourself at the top of the list, when it was you that lost every single game in the swiss

Passtimes is a cave. They need to knock down a wall or get more windows. What is it with magic players and their fear of sunlight?

The new pastimes location is definitely less comfortable than the old location. I really enjoyed the old location, the new location isn't as inviting.

Yeah, what a grind... Playing a game for the chance to win a piece of cardboard worth ~$200. Can we see the Titan list? -hq

Sorry, I guess I'm jealous because one-hour drives to tournaments are the absolute minimum, and usually I have to drive 3-5 to get to Atlanta, Asheville, Charlotte, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, and/or Charleston.
I'd pay $20 a weekend for tournament level magic and prize support in any location, really.

5x Solo Moxen 1x Black Lotus In your list you have 5x SoLo Moxen by this do you mean you are running the 5 moxen or 4 moxen and 1 sol ring. Obviously you are not running 2x Black Lotus. It would seem strange that this deck would not run Sol Ring as it makes casting Thirst w/ Drain backup much easier. If this was a typo and should be 5x Moxen 1x Sol Ring then the decklist would come out to be 61 cards.

I'd assume he meant "5 Moxen;" Oath generally doesn't run Sol Ring.
