I look forward to working with Batter Up again!  I will be on hand to buy and sell Vintage Cards.  Batter Up ran a smooth event last time, and I've been working with them to make their future events even smoother.  They are serious about becoming a key part of the New England Vintage Community, so let's show our support.  Guaranteeing $400 cash takes some kahones - other parts of country would kill for this kind of dedication.  I will also be making the Car Pool Door Prize (which will be determined at my July 19th event), to give even more back to the community.

I'll most definitely try and make the trip. I don't see any reason for me not to go since by then I should have a new car. So transportation should not be an issue like usual. Very Happy

I just want to say that this level of guaranteed prizes is truly impressive.  Even in a region with events being held every weekend (and now sometimes during the week), NEMG's prize support stands out.

Consider this a Bill Copes pre-reg.  Hopefully I won't do as horribly as I have at the last 2 events I played in.  I haven't won a match in a week.

I'm really looking forward to returning to Batter Up for another Vintage Event.  Last time we had a solid turn out, and that was without the locals.  I hope they show up and show their support to make this an even larger event.  See you guys tomorrow!

I was the CS deck in the top 4 split.  Jeff Carpenter played mana Ichorid, Arik Pogrebinsky played BUGW Fish, and Dan Gagioch played Drain Tendrils.  Rounding out the t8 was Steve Houdlette with Grim Long, Matt McNally with Strategic Slaver, and 2 other decks/players I didn't catch.

The deck spread was dominated by blue-based control decks.  I'd guess that 50-60% of the upper tables, if not the entire field, was some combination of Slaver permutations, Painter, or Drain Tendrils.  Some amount of Ichorid (I think 3-4), Fish (I think 3, between Arik, Dan Yarrington, and Jeremiah Rudolph), and combo (I think 3 between Steve Houdlette, Sara Yarrington, and Justin Bransfield) was there, as well.

It was another great tournament hosted at a great venue.  It was a bit hot in there yesterday, but I've dealt with worse so that doesn't really bother me.  Congrats to everyone in the top 8 and the top 4 for splitting.  I cannot wait to go back to this venue.  Again great tournament and not a bad turnout.

Some stuff was left off my list:

Maindeck had:
3 Khelpies (not 2)
4 Leyline of the Void (not listed)
Sideboard had: 4 Force of Will (not listed)

The leyline <-> Force of will swap was done at the last minute because when I looked around the room I saw like 3 Ichorid decks and a ton of AK-Tendrils.  It may have been a bit messy on the sheet (changed in pen on a printed decklist).
