Street Wraith is pretty good in Limited because, typically, your deck has a lot of cards you'd prefer to ignore, just playing with your best ones.  A 39-card deck is almost always worth the lifeloss.  Is this deck so reliant on getting its few best lock parts that it plays that way?  It doesn't seem that way to me, intuitively, but my testing here is pretty minimal.  Have you tried this, Schonkreuz?

I would play Cabal Therapy over Mind Twist and say that Rituals are not really needed.  Focus on cheap, relevant creatures instead of being cute.  The switch to black should be mostly for turn 1 discard and Dark Confidant.  Extirpate is also worth considering, maybe even maindeck since it's solid against Slaver if you use it on Force of Will, Mana Drain, or Strategic Planning.

I know I haven't posted in this and for that I apologize... sorry!

I'm going to have to give a sad truth but I haven't actually played this deck since worlds...at all. I work a lot and by a lot I mean at night and every weekend, and so I haven't attended the weekly ten proxy tourny I have here in a couple of months.

I will will will be picking this deck back up as soon and I can

But I wont wont wont be picking it up with street wraiths, yuck.

If I ever do plan to yank out red (Which means losing magus, very le sigh) I will have to find a damn good new way to deny my opponent of lands and such, and I would probably have to use a lot of hand disruption along with good ol' bob and hide//seek ( I can't help it I <33 that card).

Like I said I would pick this deck back up eventually, and since I am still thinking I thought it best to continue on with this thread.

In short I looked at Ethersworn Canonist and smiled, how neat! As of right now my list is short 6 cards...I added in on color mox and lotus (still have 4 null rods though) and I am uncertain about adding any spirit guides in. On the other side of that I'm thinking about putting red elemental blast/pyroblast in the main. Here is my list as of now

4x Goyf
4x Ethersworn Canonist
3xAven mindcensor
3x Gaddok Teeg
3x Magus of the Moon

4x Swords
4x Manamorphose
1x Crop Rotation

3x Life from the Loam

4x Null Rod
1x Black Louts
1x Mox Ruby
1x Mox Pearl
1x Mox Emarld

(insert 18 lands/fetches here later)

I'm still iffy about the last 6 cards, and it is kinda early in the morning so for now I will post this.

on a side note: Yes, I know the last this topic left off there was an idea being tossed around about changing colors. In an effort to remain faithful to my original list I decided to keep with rgw

With no Duress effects and no permission, isn't Crop Rotation a huge liability in a format with so much blue?

Have you tried Root Maze? That can put the hurt on combo by making thier lands and artifacts come into play tapped making it harder for them to generate mana while going off with tapped moxen. Granted null rod is better because it shuts down moxen completely but people carry hate for null rod, I doubt anyone carry's hate for root maze.

Root maze was a suggestion made before though I am uncertain of putting it in. Again I feel terrible because I don't even know when I will play this deck, though some recent brainstorming while getting food led me to this ^-^;.

-red
+black

With this change I loose Magus and Pyro/red blast but I will pick up on Duress effects, Hide/Seek (i <3 seek), Dark Confidant, Put Glowrider back in and maybe Marlen. I'll need to think over this some more before posting a concrete yes to switching colors but for now I'll show my ideas.

Yes, I know this has been suggested before, and yes I know some people will probably be like 'I told you so', well I don't really care.  The reason I am thinking about cutting red -now- is because of the switch in the deck (which leaves very few red cards).

Yes the style would be different between red and black, I'd stay with red. Although like duress disruption and confidant card drawing like you mentioned earlier but black can do other things better than red too like hit graveyards with withered wretch, yixlid jailor or go duress + extirpate to really put the hurt on some decks.

I don't know...black seems to do so much more for this deck. I've got a kinda list scribbled up for it and it just feels more complete I guess. Perhaps it is just my attractions to the color black, seeing as how I play it in most all of my decks.

Whatever works black is a top quality color plus green and white can do many of the things red can so you really aren't losing a whole lot other than magus.

Now that I have the biggest chunk of the deck figured out I started actually thinking about what to fill in for those 18 lands. Had  I mentioned in my two years of playing I only once ever built my own deck? The closest I get is doing drafts and things of the sort but when it comes to vintage, well my boyfriend is good at that and I tend to shy away from it. Without anymore hesitance here is my lands, I really really am not sure about these...some help would be neat if something seems noticeably wrong.

Why 4 Duress/3 Thoughtseize?  I know that you have Dark Confidant.  But your average cmc is very low, and this isn't like combo where you are conserving precious life points to pay repeated, large costs like Grim, Necro, Bargain, Ad Nauseam, etc.  It seems like the 2-life hit would be worth it in order to hit Painters, Ophidians, opposing Goyfs, and such.

well it mostly is because where I play normally only allows 10 proxies...and I don't own 4 thoughtsiezes. :\

I know this hasn't been posted on in a while but I thought I might as well post the list that I played at the last Meandeck open. ~>

// Lands
    1  Bayou
    2  Bloodstained Mire
    1  Plains
    2  Savannah
    3  Scrubland
    1  Strip Mine
    1  Swamp
    3  Wasteland
    4  Windswept Heath

// Creatures
    4  Aven Mindcensor
    4  Dark Confidant
    4  Ethersworn Canonist
    3  Gaddock Teeg
    4  Tarmogoyf
    4  Tidehollow Sculler

// Spells
    1  Black Lotus
    1  Mox Emerald
    1  Mox Jet
    1  Mox Pearl
    4  Null Rod
    4  Swords to Plowshares
    4  Thoughtseize
    1 [JGC] Regrowth
    1  Demonic Tutor
    1  Vampiric Tutor

I must say that I really enjoyed this trip, even if our driver nearly feel asleep at the wheel while passing a semi. I'm also happy with how the deck did, it was mostly for fun and to learn how to do that attack step thing...On a note Gaddok Teeg+Ethersworn Canonist MUST be cheats or something.

Hey was neat, and not hard to cast at all. I replaced duress with him just because he can hit more things and is a 2/2...though at times he may be a temporary solution to things he does his job. I have had an argument with others, they say Mezmeric Fiend is better because it is easier to cast. I really don't think that is at all relevant, if I cant get a B and a W I'm obviously doing it wrong!

Yea I dont see the casting of Tidehollow being such a big deal in your deck. I would actually see him being an artifact the bigger downside, but thats a very minor concern. Tidehollows a 2/2 as well, which beats fiend in the p/t department as well. Overall Scullers better.

-Your deck at the meandeck open was interesting as well. I enjoyed seeing gaddock teeg and his company back in action. Did you feel that this deck might've been far more superior than Parfait? or did you just wanna pwn noobs with the teeg?

Sorry I haven't replied in so long >.< It isn't that I was trying to out do another deck, just wanted to prove that Mr. Teeg is the bomb.
