I think the list is fine.  The draw engine is Top, Rermora, Repeal and the most of the restricted list.  3 or 4 Tops is strong with 4x Remora.  You either ensure that you keep making your land drops, or you set up plays for your upkeep.  One of the most underrated plays is letting a remora build up, then drop another one.  The repeal during your next upkeep is brutal.  Remora has been better for me as a draw engine than Bob.  It has an immediate impact on the game, and ensures that they cannot make a significant move without letting you draw a lot of cards.  With the Tendrils in the deck, it's very easy to convert CA into an immediate practically uncounterable kill.

My answer to Tinker is to kill my opponent.  If that fails, I've got Sower.  If they tinker out Inkwell, and I can't win in the huge window he leaves open, then something went horribly wrong.  Sower also allows for stealing Bob, which can be brutal when they keep based off what Bob might draw for them.  It also helps the aggro match a bit, since I have not robot to tinker for Game 1.

This deck seems to scoop to chalice for 1 game 1.
There is no answer to it rather then get lucky and force it?  Or am I not seeing an echoing truth?

It doesn't need to answer Chalice at 1 necessarily.  Granted, it can cut off a lot of spells in the deck, but it does not stop you from winning. You can easily Tinker for Key, or use Tezzeret.  Combo that with chalice not being in many Top 8's and it has been a non-issue.

This weeks turn out was just not up to par.  Time to get some excitement going about Monday Night Vintage.  With EDH side games, a draft after the event, and casual gaming going on outside the tournament, Monday Nights have never been more fun.  There was even a Brassman sighting this week!

ELD's Mox 27 is coming up at Scholar's on 12/12.  To make things even more exciting, I'm doing a Double Strike promotion.  Anyone who sweeps a Monday Night Vintage event will become eligible to win the Double Strike Prize - A Mox Pearl!!!  The challenge has been issued - sweep a MNV and ELD's Mox Tournament, and win 2x Moxes!

There are 3 Monday Night Vintage events before ELD's Mox 27.  Let's Play!

*Sweep=Win every round

*EDIT* The DCI's stance on collusion will be applied at these events.  No prize splitting will be allowed as part of the sweep.  This reflects no value from outside the prize structure being allowed in any prize split.  The extra Mox is outside the prize structure of the tournament, and therefore not allowed to be used as leverage for match results.  The Sweep Prize is meant for one mage with balls of steel who crushes two events.  It is not meant for a mage to use as a way of chopping up double the normal prizes.

Well played Eric! Hard to imagine a better incentive than a mox.  Sadly I'll be on vacation this upcoming monday, but you can be sure I'll be there the other weeks.

I don't see how this thread is benificial to the community without even a meta report.  Who played what?  How many people showed?

There's only Swiss, no top 8. So 8 people shown, means 8 people played. Unsure who played what.

Hi,
Is there any chance to see the decklists from this event?

As we don't require decklists for these, you'd have to ask the individual player for his/her decklist.

Matt Macauley is the second person to who has won the first step of the Double Strike promotion.  You have one more chance to become a Double Strike Winner next week.  Sweep next weeks event and go on to sweep ELD's Mox 27 to win DOUBLE MOX!

Alas 5th...

Anyway I vote for the $6 entry fee as I prefer to use the event to test new decks and cards that I wouldn't ordinarily use.

The option to take CASH was popular in it's debut as $45 in CASH was given out!  With scaled prizes, the more people, the more CASH you can win.  Remember, you get to choose between the previous store credit prize, or a new CASH prize, so this is strictly better!

Question for people who have not driven down in the past due to not being excited about prizes - will CASH prizes make a difference?  Would $10 entry fee for larger CASH prizes make a difference?  If we build up to attendance numbers a bit, we could easily give away $100+ in CASH each week at $10 per player!  I'd like to hear from everyone who's considered coming down, but just hasn't yet.

I personally have a preference for the 6 dollars as I just see this as a practice event more than an actual tournament.  That being said, practice is better with more people, so I would easily put aside my preference if it helped the turn out.  Ultimately, my vote is whatever will get the most people (but does that just mean i'm voting with the majority, in which case my vote is irrelevant since they win anyway?)

Since we're now doing the huge cash payouts, entry fees should be paid in cash.  Credit Cards can not be accepted for entries.  It is possible for Debit Cards to be taken, but cash is preferable.

I'd love to see the latest list of GW Aggro that Nick is playing. I see him frequently using it at the Scholar's tournaments and would like to know how it is configured currently. Has there been some evolutionary changes to it, or is it basically the same list of some months ago?

He doesn't post here and we don't collect decklists but he is constantly switching around the disruption creatures and sideboard for the expected meta.

He's also added blue.  Now he also uses the best card in all of magic, and to draw three creatures at that.
